There’s two changes under the hood too, one of which will come as more welcome news than the other. PD notes it has “adjusted the geometry calculations” which caused a lack of rear-end grip particularly on rear-wheel drive cars, and this should now be improved. In addition, an error with the Performance Points calculation has been addressed.

:(

There's some good and bad there. Yes they did adjust the PP system, but people on gt planet have already found out how to reconfigure the tomahawk, so you can still use it to run the tokyo race  Need to head over there and find the new settings so I can try a few runs tonight. The bad tho is that it seems its basically changed the PP values of every car, so if you've had a car set up for a specific PP pre-patch, it likely has changed now and your setup is now shit

But people are saying the balance on RWD cars is much better now, so I'm excited about that.

confirmed!! It can still be done, but a majority of the tunes that have popped up so far use intermediate tires, which makes it nice for the first lap because you can push a lot more, but those tires fall off real quick. I used the new tune gt planet has posted on the first post of the tomahawk thread, and holy hell!! w/ DRS this thing was hitting 375mph on the straight!! But I had to pit twice because of the tires. still finished in about 20 minutes tho.

But then i found this tune where someone was able to get racing hard tires to work

I think this ones the winner. Feels much like the old tune from before, but its definitely a lot more powerful, and still hits over 360mph. And w/ racing hards you dont have to worry about them falling off. i do need to play w/ my fuel map tho because i did need to stop near the end for a quick splash of fuel, but even still i finished in 19:24, and that was a few penalties  She definitely a bit squirrelier w/ this tune, but thats probably its a lot more powerful.

so the grind is safe. for now.

I did buy the cappuccino. And i WILL take it to the ring   But not tonight.

IDAFC21 IDAFC21 Paul, is the force feedback on curbing embarrassingly minimal for you? Curious if I’m chasing an adapter/wheel problem, or if the game doesn’t deliver here.

Its the game. Every wheel user has been complaining about the lack of curb feedback since the game launched. It definitely doesn't lack feedback anywhere else tho. When Im going 350+ in the tomahawk and slam on the brakes I swear this DD wheel is gonna rip my arms off

Because I said I would

Ring.jpg

I'm actually really surprised it did it in under 10 minutes with all its 62HP glory  I did slap some sport soft tires on it (not like it needed it), but slow as it is, it was actually kinda fun cuz you can pretty much keep your foot flat thru most of the turns. No worries of overheating the stock brakes on this thing cuz you barely need to use them!

Also got 1 tomahawk run in. Still need to work out my fuel maps w/ this new setup. tried 6 on lap 1, 5 on lap 2, and then 4 from lap 3 on but near the end it was looking like it was gonna be real close again, so I just stopped in for a splash. Plus i got tons of penalties in this run cuz I was just lazy. I think thats good for tonight. Couldnt have driven 2 more contrasting cars tonight  Thought about getting the tomahawk run out of the way before the 'cino ring run........but that just would have been absolute torture, so I did ring first.

Well i was reading today on gt planet some people complaining because they feel the license tests and circuit experiences are "too easy" after they did the physics update. Some guys went back and re-ran the nurburgring CE and were improving their times by 5-10 seconds or more. So I thought ok, lets go revisit an old CE, Laguna Seca, w/ the unruly Viper, see if its a walk in the park now. After several attempts, I was only able to get marginally close to my best time from before  Still havent even broken into the 1'28's yet. I think I'm just bad at Laguna. But I will say the viper is MUCH more compliant now. And I was able to EASILY run it w/ TCS off. That NEVER would have happened before the update. So I am pleased with that. I definitely felt more confident in the car, but i was not prepared to still have to put in that much effort to try and get gold on that fucking track, so I said FUCK THIS, and did a tomahawk run and turned the game off.

Maybe this weekend I'll go back to laguna.

Finally, got a sub 17 minute race on the Tokyo Expressway farming race. Had three penalties on laps too, so if I can clean those up more it should be consistently in the 17 minute range. Averaging 18 minutes a round now as it is.

Have too many cars at this point. :bowrofl:

Still going to grind some more to at a minimum buy all the cars you need an invitation for.

Yeah, ive tried running it at 4 after the first 2 or 3 laps, but it still consumes too much juice. Just gonna have to leave it on 6 or 5 the whole race I guess if I wanna make it through. Its not like the cars that much slower even at 6  And laps where you have to lap the field theres no point in running it any higher because you're not gonna be using full power anyways trying to avoid all those knobs.

Yeah, a bunch of my laps are in the 1 minute 30 range due to slowing down around those assholes
