$70 for an OEM interior door handle for an Escalade?!?! I was tempted to go with a Dorman one for about 10 seconds but I’m too old and injured to Dukes of Hazard out the window.
I can't find the clip, but that immediately reminds of the scene from Remo Williams - The Adventure Begins where they steal a truck that has no brakes, and it careens out of control. Chiun doesn't get out, and when they find the truck he's sitting in the passenger seat with the interior door handle in his hand. He says, "in Korea, door handles do not break".

Wait, found it!

Edit. shit, I have no idea what language it's in

I absolutely love that movie and quote Chiun all the time at work “You are pitiful, the seasons move faster.” and “You move like a baboon with two clubbed feet.” No one gets the reference.

I have about 20 of the "The Destroyer" series of books. There is over 150 of them. Can't see spending that much money to get them. So I'll grab a few (in series order) every month or two just to cycle them into my reading material.

Oh, and also, if you get the chance, grab Gilbert Gottfried's Amazing Colossal Podcast where they interview Joel Grey (episode #242). It's a really good listen.

Semi-related, episode #275 with Jeff Abraham and Burt Kearns. They wrote a book called "The Show Won't Go On". It's about performers that died on stage or performing. Yeah, it's about death, but it is a really funny episode.

Lastly, and a huge shock was a recent episode with Matthew Modine. When the podcast talks about getting ass fucked by a monkey you know it's gonna be a good interview. One of the best episodes they've done, out of more than 600.

Does it count as a purchase if the order can’t be filled and your money is refunded? 4th time I’ve tried to buy a replacement driver door courtesy lamp because mine broke when I took the inner panel off and for the 4th time from a 4th different vendor the order is declined because it’s not in stock and on intergalactic back order.

Nice!!!! I haven't dove since Cancun in January of 2016. Congrats!!! Didn't know there was any other SCUBA persons on here. Granted I'm a novice with only a handful of shallow dives (max depth 50') but it was fun and I'd like to get more dives under my [weight] belt (har har har).

Not even that far yet, my buddy is way into it so I figured what the fuck lets go for it. Still need to sign up for the class, I'm wanting to go in Mexico when we hit there in June. I've been swimming 2.5 miles a week and am getting up to 4.5 miles so I'm hoping that it's a fairly straight forward transition honestly.

Oh you’ll have no problem. The closed water course just has you going back and forth a few times in an Olympic sized pool.

The classroom work will be a cake walk for you. Then it’s just practice and review in the pool. They’ll have you partner up to go over safety/buddy diving. Like having to give someone your spare regulator if they run out of air. One key thing when you do that is they have you shove your spare into their mouth. If they are panicking, good luck. Key is to basically shove the regulator in front of their eyes, then into their mouth, so they know what’s going on.

Open water just goes over what you did in closed water. IIRC it is four separate dives over two days (spread out for recovery). Typically they’ll avoid high-drift (current) areas the first day.

You burn like 10% of the energy underwater than you do swimming. Most of the time your arms are crossed and you just use your legs and flippers and work to maintain neutral buoyancy.

Two of my four dives stayed above 33’ so no decompression stops. I have a normally slow heart rate and breathing. So after 45 minutes at 30’ I had only used 50% of my air, and had tons of energy left.

If you do a current dive they’ll drop you at one spot, you drift with the current, and they pick up further down current. Only energy you’ll use is keeping your neutral buoyancy and breathing.

The one thing that took practice was the breathing. Above water you have to “work” to draw in a breath, and it’s easy to expel. It’s the opposite underwater using then regulator. You have the air being forced in as soon as you start to inhale, and have to force it out. Takes a few minutes to get used to it. Also have to remember to keep breathing, all the time. I’d forget and occasionally hold my breath. At 20-30’ not a big deal. Go down a few atmospheres and that’s a big no-no.

Lastly (for now), if you have facial hair, especially above your lip, lose it. You’ll have a hard time getting a seal on the mask. You’ll constantly be clearing it of water that’ll seep in.
