I remember young me seeing the bit where Bob Saget asked Dave Chappell if he ever sucked dick for coke and that was such a disconnect between who I understood him to be (cheesy TV guy) and real life that I couldn't reconcile it. The fact that I was just coming out of a 13 year private christian education might not have helped things either. I had a similar disappointing feeling when I found out that Creed sold out and was making mainstream music.

Suffice it to say, I never really knew who Bob was other than the fact that I knew he wasn't the character he played on TV all those years. And I never really thought about it. That is until this summer...

I haven't shared much of my life on here but I used to be neighbors with the late, great Ralphie May. Ralphie's widow and I have been friends for years and we co-own a small media company. She's been spending the better part of a couple years shooting a documentary covering the life of Ralphie and his struggle with addiction. And part of the process has been interviewing various comedians and celebrities. A couple months ago we interviewed Kevin Smith. A couple months before that we interviewed Jay Leno. That's probably a post of it's own because Jay and I talked cars and that dude gets a bad rap for reasons that escape me. A couple months before that, she interviewed Bob. I wasn't there for that one.

We have cloud storage that we upload media to and one day while uploading my clips I noticed Bob's interview on our server and watched part of it. If the scene where he's asking Dave Chappell if he ever sucked coke for marijuana shocked me into thinking he was kind of a dick, the interview on our server was equally shocking in the complete opposite way. Not only was he funny, but he was genuine and gracious with his time.

I can't delve too much into what the interview covered but suffice it to say, Bob was a good guy or was at least doing a really convincing job of playing a good guy. You'll all eventually be able to see at least some parts of that interview in the documentary.

I'm not sure why I'm sharing any of this other than the fact that I keep seeing this post and every time I see it, it reminds me of that feeling I got when I watched the video this summer and how wrong my assumptions were about this guy for so many years.

I know you are being modest which I appreciate, but from my point of view you do not come off as arrogant in your posts and I’m not speaking about this instance either.

Not sure if that makes a difference for you.

If I ever med jay leno id say 3/4 of my questions would be about the SHO GUN

Completely forgot about it until a friend from my old SHO days messaged me and they were like "ask him if he still has the SHOgun!". I felt like an idiot for forgetting. That car was a such a legend back in the day. I asked and he's like "Oh yeah, back in the corner over in the other room. Check it out!" and off I went.

Who is to say that something was wrong with that part of his head previously and he didnt know about it? I had a friend from HS that had a couple veins outside of his skull vs being inside so he was never allowed to play football cause if he got hit in that spot, he could very well die. Maybe Bob didnt even know that condition existed.

Crazy to think that he hit his head hard enough and didn't think to get checked out.

Though one time I dropped the soap in the shower, and when I stood back up, I banged my head pretty hard on the ledge. It was so hard that I saw stars. I never bothered to get checked out since I didn't have any signs of a concussion.

Walking out of the bar early morning with my Brothers in Edisto Beach SC.

The pier stairs, bar was on a pier on the beach, were out of code. I was a little tipsy but not completely smoked.

In any event I missed a step fucking rolled down 10+ flights of stairs.

Woke up the next morning with blood all over my pillow, huge lump back of my skull.

Zero recollection of Wtf happened.
They should had called an ambulance.
In any event, it all worked out

Last year, I was at a neighbor's house sitting on a folding chair, and the chair legs collapsed (I'm 200 lbs, so shitty chair). I fell backwards and whacked the back of my head on the corner of a wall. Hurt like hell, but I didn't have any concussion symptoms. That's the sort of thing though, that you should have somebody else check you out. Alone at a hotel? I may have felt awkward going to the front desk or calling 911 for bumping my head to have them check me out. But after this, I'm sure I'd get someone else involved since it could be lethal.

Hopefully his death does cause some folks to not roll the dice with head injuries and go get checked out.

It had to be some weird anamoly or he really whacked it though. I've hit my head numerous time on objects that were much harder than my skull and/or immovable and played hard in sports in high school. Some might say "that explains a lot..." But I digress... I would think the average person has also smacked their noggin on something once or twice too.

Yea, seems to be a little bit more than him bumping his noggin...

A report from the Orange County Medical Examiner, obtained by PEOPLE on Thursday, confirmed that Saget had fallen backward and hit the back of his head. He had a fracture to the back of his head and around his eyes at the time of his death.

The report stated that the beloved Full House actor also had posterior scalp abrasions, subgaleal hemorrhage (which is blood that forms between skull and scalp), discoloration in the upper and lower eyelids due to skull fracture, subdural hematoma (which is a buildup of blood on surface of the brain) and subarachnoid hemorrhage (which is bleeding in the space that surrounds the brain).

Saget was also COVID-19 positive at the time of his death, according to the autopsy.

And gotta get the Rona in there too.

Fracture around the orbits as well as the back of the cranium? That has to be a helluva impact. I can see cracking the back of your skull and not knowing it, then lying down from headache-like symptoms. Breaking the orbits isn’t something you’re not going to be aware of.
