I can assure you, at no time in his career will opposing defenses scheme their game plans with him in mind. He would be a perfect #2 to a game changing true
#1 receiver.
If you think every defense in the league doesn't scheme their game plan around every opponents top wr, you're definitely mistaken, and he's definitely been our top option this year.

I do agree with you though, right now he's a Wr #2, but he's only in his second year and has shown great progression so far. To say that he'll never be a Wr #1 at this point is beyond premature

I guess I'll quote this post a year from now and he will still be average at best.
He puts ZERO fear in the hearts of any D Coordinator. They are probably more concerned with Montgomery.
Yes our top option on a HORRIBLE offense, we have seen this same song and dance with our receivers for years.

They'd be more scared of any WR, be it #1 or #2, if the play caller (*ahem*), consistently called the right play call for the right down and yardage, each time and was effective with it, making opposing secondaries pay.

Unlike how many times over the past season when we're 4th and 1, and Nagy was sending the entire receiving corps for something either Montgomery, or a good solid push and a QB sneak would've gotten the job done.

I don't think I'd characterize a 1,000 yard receiving year as "average"

Agreed, but look at Tennessee. Obviously the main concern for defenses there is Henry, but AJ Brown is a Top tier Wr #1 that also commands respect from the secondary

Dude he was basically the only option, hence the 1000 yards. If Robinson had played up to his capabilities, nobody would be talking about Mooney.
Robinson was a solid middle tier #1 receiver, what the fuck happened to him. Your skills dont just decline that bad overnight. No way in hell can Mooney make the catches Robinson has made over the last couple of years. He is just not on that level and never will be. I'm not saying he is horrible, all I'm saying is he will never be elite.

New position on Bears, diversity, equity and inclusion boss Tanesha Wade will help with the GM and coach choice.
Olin Kruetz and or Tom Thayer should be hired as consultants and help make this decision. Not some bitch thats in charge of Bears special events, jesus fucking christ are they an incompetent organization!
