Pits are notorious for allergies. Porter is seven and is pretty much allergic to any food out there. He gets fed raw or can eat one specific blend of Zigniature food. Most annoying one is anything chicken or chicken meal which is in fucking everything.

You want me to grab one for you. Hang it outside your half million dollar mansion. Not sure if your neighbors will like it though

Our new overlords want to send me to VA for an acquisition bought recently as a second pair of hands for a network cutover. Want me to fly there help with menial bullshit and fly back.

Think a meeting with my manager and the new overlords may be in order if they intend to have me flying all over the country. Something that isn't in my job description (yeah I'm pulling that card, sue me) and something I really don't want to do as part of my job. I don't mind local travel.

What's the timeline for the cutover? Def sounds like the type of thing that would be weekly travel until it's done.

It sounds like a smaller acquisition so basically they sent over a router and dropped a fiber line. Router needs to be configured and then verify IP scheme and network accessibility. Make sure everyone can still see local network devices (printers, etc, etc) as well as see the overlord network. All in a full days work.

Sounds fast. Don't complain, get filet for dinner when out of town, all good.
Not really complaining, just trying to catch it before "hey Carter..." and now I'm flying all across southern US and my job description still says "Travel:10%, local". naw'm sayin?

These are all landscaping companies being bought up. From the sounds of it, around 90% of these "acquisitions" are SOHO-style offices with Gmail, Google Sheets, and USB attached printers that are now getting the enterprise treatment of a local managed network.

If it becomes a consistent thing I'd def ask for a raise or tell them you didn't sign up for that, but for a one-time deal that'll take a day or two, personally I wouldn't even bring it up
