Well at least I'm not crazy. There seem to be some audio issues that plague (i think) just the playstation version of this game. No matter what you have the audio settings at (unless you have it in just plain stereo) all the dialog comes primarily thru the rear damn speakers, no matter what direction youre facing the person thats speaking. There's quite a lengthy thread about it reddit and the EA forums. It's really freaking off putting. Im getting around it right now by using my 3D wireless headset, things seem more normalized thru the headset. I think it only effects ME1, but man I'm hoping they put a patch out for this.

yeah. Haven’t experienced that on the pc version. I can rotate the camera and thedialog moves speakers accordingly

I've got 7 hours into the game now and all ive been doing is running around the citadel  Exploring every nook and cranny again, reading all the codex entries, trying to complete every side mission that pops up. Trying to play this run as paragon as possible, but man those renegade dialog options are always so tempting.

So. Apparently there is this nasty bug. At least with the windows version.

the specter master gear disappears from the csec requisition office. So you can’t buy it.

I was supremely annoyed because I finally got enough money together to start buying it but it’s just gone.

There is a workaround, but you have to redo the work around every time you want to buy more specter gear

Think Im about 14-15 hours in now and I still havent even gone to Feros or Noveria  Just been doing side missions, scanning planets, etc. I love reading the descriptions for all the planets. SO much work went into building this universe, and everything in it, and that's one of the things I've always loved about this series, and even all the codex entries about all the weapons systems, and propulsion systems and everything, it's all backed by actual science (mostly)

Yeah, people look at me strange when they realize I've read ALL of the planet descriptions. Just like I read the Codex entries as well.

That reminds me, I need to take the Trinket from Shiara to Eletania and kill all the Pyjacks. Those shit slinging Monkey's need to die, I'll take Wrex with me.

I play as an Adept, so I typically take Ashley/Wrex, or Garrus/Tali to make up for the lack of Muscle & Tech.

Some missions I'll take Liara so I can do Biotic Combo's, but they aren't as effect in ME1 as later ME2/3. ME2/3 really fixed the combat system and made being an Adept or Vanguard something worth it.

Right now I pretty much use Lift, Throw, and Singularity to disorganize, disrupt, and scatter enemies, while the Muscle and Tech kills them. I generally take pot shots with the Pistol. The changes to allow any character to use any weapon are helpful though. I have found a ton of use with the Sniper at longer ranges, and the Assault Rifles are somewhat useful, except I don't get damage/cool down bonuses with them.

Apparently they just released a big patch today. Chief among the fixes, is supposedly quieting down the audio blast you get every time you use a mass effect relay :LOL: I just instinctively take my headphones off now whenever I travel to a new system. It only took 1 time of almost blowing my eardrums out to never do that again.

Here's the full list. Thirdgen89GTA Thirdgen89GTA it looks like they maybe fixed that spectre gear bug?

Here's the patch list in full:
General
  • English spoken dialogue can now be selected separately from subtitle language
  • Resolved issues with unlocking some achievements/trophies, such as the Paramours or kill count trackers
  • Corrected pre-rendered cutscenes that were darker than intended after the previous update
  • Wireless headsets/devices no longer cause issues with the Xbox launcher
  • Improved PC performance across various hardware configurations, including on Virmire
  • Fixed an issue on PC where non-standard characters in the operating system's username would prevent the game from launching
  • Removed the dependency on the AVX instruction set in the launcher
  • Other minor calibrations and fixes, including some instances of crashing
Mass Effect
  • Fixed an issue that prevented players from reaching the max level
  • Fixed an issue where tier VII Spectre - Master Gear was inaccessible
  • Various collision improvements
  • Fixed an issue that would prevent the ability to interact with objects
  • Lowered audio volume on Mass Relay load screens
  • Improved eye animations for male characters in some scenes
Mass Effect 2
  • Toned down the intensity of fog on Illium
  • Fixed an issue where a character's eyes at the end of the Overlord DLC were unintentionally red
  • Reduced the max credits that can be carried from Mass Effect to Mass Effect 2 down to 100k for more balanced early-game progression
  • Credit carryover maximum now matches carryover from the original release
  • Posthumous banking fees are a lot! It's a great way to dodge taxes.
Mass Effect 3
  • Resolved an issue where English dialogue no longer played during the Citadel DLC for German and Italian localisations
  • Fixed an issue where some key characters weren't appearing as intended during the Citadel DLC

What I don't see is any fix for the weird audio mix in the playstation version of the game with the dialog and main sounds primarily coming out of the rear speakers, and the whole reason im even using headphones with this game. Oh well. As of now I'm about 23ish hours into the game, and still have not gone to feros or noveria  I think I'm about ready to next time I boot the game up tho.

I've seen these 4.

I'm stuck at level 59, no spectre gear, my mako got stuck on a rock 3 times on Novaria. And can't interact with objects. I had to save, and reload the game to interact again, but it would randomly happen again.

Just started playing this yesterday.

Once I became a Spectre, the C-SEC requisition guy opened up the rare "special" stock and the Spectre VII stuff is there. Haven't tried the Normandy quartermaster yet though. I checked the C-SEC guy before I even set foot on the Normandy.

I started a new game after the patch was applied, so I wonder if that has something to do with it.
Maybe if you're playing from a saved game that was started pre-patch, there might be a problem.

Welp 27 hours in and finally went thru Feros last night. Did all the little mini missions and completed everything I could there. Noveria will be next, tho I did pick up a few side missions that I need to travel to some other systems to complete first. My only regret doing Feros first is that even tho my charm is maxed out its still not high enough to choose a dialogue option at a particular point during that mission. But from a story/flow standpoint it just makes more sense to go to Feros first. Well technically first I went and rescued Liara so I could get her on my squad as soon as possible.

I also forgot how tedious the item management can be in this game

Yeah the "Junk" method doesn't really help unless after every pickup you go through and mark the new stuff as Junk.

I finished Feros this week and did Virmire yesterday.

I usually sacrifice Kaidan. Mostly because though he's Biotic, and has some Tech skills, he's not really a good enough squad mate. I'm Adept, so if I bring Ash/Wrex/Garrus for Combat, I can bring Tali/Garrus for tech. All depends on if I am going against organic or synthetic.

If I'm going against Rachni, I always bring Wrex, just to hear his comments. I usually bring Tali along on Geth missions for her comments and hacking.

That's pretty much what I try to do whenever Im out on a mission. Any time i open a crate or locker and get new weapons I'll open up the equipment menu right away to check them out. I have all the master spectre gear, so its all usually worthless to me, but I check them again whatever squadmates I have with me and if its an upgrade i'll make the swap and mark the old stuff (or anything else I know is worthless) as junk right away. If I get a nice high level piece that I know another squadmate could make good use of i'll save it for when im back on the normandy. Wrex doesn't need a high level sniper rifle. Once I'm back on the normandy i'll immediately go sell all the stuff I marked as junk first to clear that out, then I'll go over to the lockers and upgrade the rest of my squad with anything that's useful. After that i'll go back i'll sell everything that's leftover. It's a little time consuming, but saves you headaches later when you dont have to sift thru tons of mostly useless gear.
