Minnesota wasnt scoring 8 runs that late in the game. As you said, they already gave up. Even worse, Larussa publicly called him clueless, lmmfao.

SUX will not win a WS with him managing. I don’t see him being fired during the season either. Jerry is known to be very loyal to his guys.
Care to out money on that? He wins a WS within 3 years and retires.

Says the guy who roots for a team that has made the playoffs 5 times the last 35 or 36 years

Says the guy who roots for a team that didnt do anything for over 100 years, literally tried to kill a guy for trying to catch a foul ball, and praising their team for an "amazing play" VS calling the first baseman from the other team a dumbass for not just touching the bag and calling the inning. Shall I keep going?

And it took the SUX 87 years, so stop acting like they are the fucking Yankees with 27 Championships. News flash Einstein, both teams have the same amount of WS wins the last 100 years. The fact of the matter is, the Cubs have been in the playoffs and in contention more the last 7yrs than the SUX the last 35 or 36 years.
Please show me where I tried killing Bartman or saying Baez play was amazing (prior to this post).
Was it amazing on Baez part? Absolutely, what made it amazing was the dumb fuck 1st baseman. Had he stepped on the base, then this isnt even a story.

The stupid play Baez got in proved how stupid he really is. He thought the runner was safe at home before he was safe at first. He obnoxiously made a safe motion with his arms.

Baez is the next dumbest person on the field after that Pirates first baseman.
I can see getting caught up in the moment. Hell, I can't imagine he actually thought any of this was going to work haha. I don't think this was something beaz saw working. If he kept running he was going to be out at first. Let's stop and see what happens.

But if Tim Anderson did the same thing it woulda been the greatest play in the history of the game. Funny that you and the other bandwagon fan are the only ones thinking it’s dumb. Ive yet to see/hear any analyst on tv or the radio say it was dumb. Lots said it was brilliant.

For the record, Baez admitted literally 5 min after the game was over that he had no idea what the rule was. He said he improvised hoping it would work and it did. So again your talking out of your ass when it comes to baseball.

Basically what Baez said 5 min after the game when interviewed.

There's nothing to lose. I'm a Cubs fan but think Baez is getting too much credit. He was smart enough to make them think and panick. 95% of that is on the pirates fill in rookie first basemen and the AAA team that's pretending to me a major league team.

Agreed, hence the reason I said it was only amazing because of the dumb 1st baseman. Had he stepped on 1st this isn’t a story. But that’s Baez, always thinking/doing shit outside the box. Most of the time it works, but sometimes it bites him in the ass.

At least Baez admits he's a dumb ass. I always knew he was.

The ump made the safe call too. Is the ump dumb? Contreras has to be called out or safe on that play at the plate, and that safe call stands up until Baez gets to first base or not.

I realize Baez was unsure of the rule, but it's not like he is the manager of his team that doesn't know the rules... I'd like to know who is dumbest: LaRussa, Reinsdorf, or the fans that think LaRussa was a good hire.

Not many people knew the rule including the Cubs announcers, guys on ESPN and the Score when it initially happened. Because that was the first time anyone has seen a play like that. I was unsure as well and I’ve been involved with organized baseball and softball for over 25yrs. I’ve coached in-house and travel baseball for 6-7yrs as well. It made sense once explained and I’m sure had I thought about it, I would have figured it out. But I guarantee you a couple of the bandwagon SUX fans knew the rule the second the play happened.

What Baez did wasn’t anything special. You’re taught that move in little league to buy time for other runners on the base paths. The better move was by contreras. He’s getting no credit and I honestly think his base running was better than Baez.

Rather surprised the Legal dept approved of the memo

I can’t ever think where I saw Sox fans accept a moniker like “lovable losers” or chase someone out of their ballpark called “the friendly confines”. Now if you want to continue to be assholes to each other in a stupid ass baseball thread, let me know. I’m personally just having fun and ribbing and bashing the completely useless by September’s and not fans unless someone else wants to take a stab.

Which is part of the problem today. Can’t like anything without that things haters giving you unwarranted shit and and being labeled even if the label is incorrect.

I would agree with this. Trying something for the sake of trying is one thing. I have read and spoken to people that think he is genius for this play. Really? I mean it’s a mind game to throw other people off, but don’t give him too much credit. The guy being paid to play first base was just not smart in that situation.

Dude wouldnt even be on the team after the end of the inning and his ass is walking home if they were at an away game if I were in charge. Lol.

If you dont like it then dont comment on my Cubs/SUX posts in a negative way with your stupid shit. I asked a question about Yermin and you had to throw the CUBS bullshit in there. If you going to dish it out, them you better be able to take it without crying about what I say. I take that shit to heart and hate those inbred fucking idiots from the south side with a passion. I will argue and disrespect those loser POS on my deathbed. I admit that I'm the BIGGEST SUX hater on planet earth. I'd say worse but Mook would have to come in here and edit it and probably give me a slap on the wrist. I have been in huge knock em down drag em out brawls at Cubs/SUX games (yes I'm that guy). Won a few and lost a few, but thats how serious I am about my hatred for them. The last 10 years or so, no fights as people dont take it that serious anymore, except for me.
