Congrats! who was the carrier that picked up your car? Was it an enclosed trailer?

did you email them the bill of lading?

It was a private carrier based out of Bolingbrook. The guys name was Al and he drove the car off vs flat bedding it. I spoke to him a bit and he said he had another pickup at Fair Oaks Ford so he was driving the car there. He took a bunch of pics and entered them into an app along with scanning the VIN. He asked for my email address and he immediately sent a proof of pickup, which I sent to Vroom.

I asked him where he was taking the car. The car was going straight to the auction in Hoffman Estates (Adesa). He said all of the cars heā€™s picked up for Vroom go to one of the auctions.

Spent a half hour on the phone with vroom today, apparently there is an issue on their end where my car doesnā€™t show as scheduled to be picked up, I said you need to get your shit together soon or i will sell the car to Carvana, the lady was super helpful and kept apologizing and said that a case has been open with ā€œhigh priorityā€ sooo yeah weā€™ll see what happens.

Interesting, always curious as to what that place was. Literally right by my house.

Got another email today. They are asking for below and only giving me 2 days to get it to them. How convenient that they wait till Friday to ask for this shit. Called the bank who financed my truck and they are all working remotely and said it could take up to 4 business days to fax that over. Gave me another number for third party use, whatever that means. Supposedly they said they will take care of it.

This Dealer Payoff Letter must:
  • Be valid for 15 days
  • Include your vehicleā€™s 17 character Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
  • Include the Daily Per Diem (A per diem on a car loan is the amount of interest that accumulates on a daily basis. Your auto loan lien holder will provide a per diem amount for the payoff check from Vroom).
  • Include your auto loan lien holderā€™s Overnight Mailing Address
Note that we are unable to contact the lender on your behalf.

This is due within 2 business days or the price on your vehicle will expire.
