Going through my shit doing some spring cleaning. Found some magic the gathering cards that have been in a box since 1998. IDK shit about these and never played. Not sure where they came from but I put the 6 "decks" on Facebook last night. Figure if I can get $10 for these why throw them out. Fuck woke up to a dozen messages from nerds. One guy offered me my asking price of $10 if I would ship them to him. I told him local pickup only and if I did that I would actually be paying him to take the cards. Next guy tells me the same thing and tells me hes not driving 4 hours each way to buy something for $10 because he has a "muscle car". I asked him what kind of car for the lolz so we will see where we can go with this. I have also had good luck selling outdoor stuff. Posted a old tackle box with some plastic baits that probably are from 1995 and well expired, and a few lures. $30 got alot of messages about it but no one actually follows through and buys it. Got a message from a dude last night asking if I would deliver and offered $10 more. It would be one thing if it was a kid wanting to fish in the next town over but this was a adult that lived in East Moline. He seemed shocked when I told him it was a 5 hour round trip for me and I would likely be spending $50-$75 just in gas. I don't even think I would do it to sell a $300 item.

Guy just paypal me double asking price and is driving down from Milwaukee for the magic cards. I know something of value could be inside I just don't wanna make the effort to look at a few hundred card. Making someone else gamble on my expense sounds good to me.

Had some lady message me the other morning wanting to buy one of my items. Says she works in McHenry and she can come by after work. COOL. I tell her first come first served and I am not saving anything without payment in full via Zelle or Paypal. "I really want this. I really need this. Please save it for me until I get off work." OK message me at 3PM for address. She messages me and I give her my address. THE AD SAYS CARY AND YOUR ADDRESS SAYS FOX RIVER GROVE. Sorry lady my GPS was probably in the wrong spot when I posted the ad. Cary is literally 500ft to the west of me on the other side of a river. OK THANKS I DON'T BUY THEM. I ask her what's the issue and NO RESPONSE. Like WTF she thinks this is some setup or something. Glad I didnt "hold" them for her if someone could come sooner.

Not gunna lie, I’d take the time to look at what you have. That nerdy shit, depending on what card it is and edition/shape it’s in bring huge money. Especially if you know it’s from the 90s.

MTG is literally cult following level of nerd. Worse than fucking Harry Potter.

Can't do anything about it now. That's the thing about alot of collectables you need to know what you have to get the most money. I had like a dozen messages over night from nerds. All of them I responded to "is it available?" A few were messaging me after the dude from Milwaukee already drove down asking to buy them for more money. Im like dude they are paid for any gone. Don't you see the ad says SOLD. They told me the same thing. They are kinda worthless today but since they were from the 90's could be some very rare cards.
