I finally got rid of a 351 shortblock, cam, and intake manifold for decent money this last weekend. It took about a week and a half of stupid messages with several people. The guy that came to buy the shortblock was great. Showed up on time and knew what he was buying.

I had others show up earlier in the week basically expecting a perfect turn key engine even though I clearly described that the engine would need to be taken apart, cleaned, and inspected before running it.

Went through that scenario with two to 350 four-bolt main short blocks recently. I had them pictured outside covered in flash rust stating that they need rebuilds and they're good cores for $200 a piece... Most of the people that showed up initially were bitching about the fact that they need to be machined ?

Then I ended up selling two of them the same day for full asking price with no questions asked because they were as advertised.

I did ok back in September/October sold my pontoon boat powerplay and Mach 1 all within 5 days for full asking price but I had some weird shit offered in trade on all of them, I sold my enduro in early February for full asking price also first guy that came to look at it I did have a few odd ball offers, lots of low balls people offered me as little as 3500 with an asking price of 8500, I was like dude they offered me 8k on trade I just figured I’d throw it out there since dirt bikes are few and far between right now

I have been getting a lot of "I will take it, what's your address?" As if they can come whenever they fucking please. I usually ask them where they are located, tell them my location is in the ad, and ask what time they want to come by. If they tell me they cannot come within the hour I tell them to message me when they are ready to come over and I will give them my address. I also tell them I am not holding anything unless its paid in full by zelle or paypal. 9 times out of 10 they ghost me. Been meeting these shady looking address asking people at the library parking lot if they actually show. Cameras all over for some reason and alot of people usually around.

I let scrappers take my 350 from my 71 as I didn’t want the fucking headaches of dealing with morons.

Do people really think a Grand National is going to sell for $1,800?

I'm worried for the future of our society. People can't be this stupid.
No shit. The 8.5 rear end brings more than that... There's a reason why all the inquiries are dreamers. I'm sure they got cash money to spend but they think they're getting the steel of a deal and once they realize they're not they ghost me

I just give those people the address where I usually meet people (grocery store nearby). I figure either they'll actually show or they waste their time going at some random fucking time and I move along.

Some of my listings are getting ZERO traffic until I get 1-2 initial messages then I just get flooded. Probably due to the algorithm. Anyone use the promote function to sell stuff? A few bucks to reach 1000 people seems like a OK investment. Its just this bullshit that I don't like

Facebook is required to share your business information with local tax authorities who request it.

Im sorry but tax was already paid on what I am selling when it was new. A seller or a buyer should not be taxed again. I know facebook itself isnt going to tax me but this could really fuck people that promote and sell alot of stuff on FB if they get audited.
