So checking my email they did the aeration and then a "recovery seeding". Thought DanJ DanJ might like to read this.

1. Step 1: Crabgrass Pre-emergent plus Fertilizer
-Manufacturer ProAp Turf Products
-Granular Application blanket application 15-0-3
-Stabalized Nitrogen 30% - Barricade .37% Prodiamine
-.65lbs of Nitrogen per 1000 square feet
-Weed Control Liquid Application (If weeds are actively growing) Escalade 2,Manufacturer Nufarm US
*.75 ounces per thousand square feet, ai%: 2,4-D - 39.53%, Fluroxypyr - 5.90%, Dicamba 4.10%
Keep off lawn until dry or 24 hours. Copies of Labels are available upon request.

2. Aeration and Recovery-Seeding:
-Please water every other day for the next 3 weeks to support the germination and establishment of the new seed.
-Core Aerate all Accessible Turf Areas
-Spot-Seed with high quality turf seed
-3lbs of seed per thousand square feet
-Perennial Rye Grasses

So I’m just the resident lawn psychopath now?

That’s interesting that your lawn people actually tell you what they put down so in depth. Rye grass should come up pretty quick, but what’s interesting is they put it down after putting prodiamine down. My understanding is that prodiamine stops germination so I’m not sure how that will effect the seeding they did. Obviously there is an angle I’m not seeing because I’m sure they aren’t just wasting 3lb/1000 of grass seed.

Yeah I was going to say you usually don't want a pre-emergent down the same time you seed.

Not a psychopath, I just know you like knowing the actual chemicals going down. :D

I will say, these guys have made stellar results on the WeGo house. That yard was a weed farm 2 seasons ago, and now there is nary a weed in the yard. They also cleaned up my yard at the Elgin house, while nowhere near as bad, the issue I was having there, was that despite dethatching and aerating, it just wasn't exploding in spring and was very "patchy". Lawn made a 110% turn around after them.

My concern with them now is that they're growing too much and will they lose that "touch" they had as a smaller "boutique" yard place. That's one of the reasons I dumped Trugreen/Chemlawn was because they DGAF and were just coming once every couple of weeks and spraying something on the lawn. Anyway, this new place, once I started with them at the WeGo house, now every lawn going down the block has their signs in the yard.

I'm wondering if they put down what they did on mine simply because of the amount of rain we're supposed to get for the remainder of the week. Putting the nitrogen down then fresh rain water (and potentially lightning from a T-storm), should kick things off nicely, right?

Fresh dose of nitrogen, increased temps and rain should get things going nicely. I’m still hemming and hawing if I’ll put any fertilizer down. The theory is if you put enough down late in the fall, the plant is storing it and it’s going to grow in the spring anyways. I’m a busy body and like mowing so I probably will.

Yea, the WeGo house is getting long up near the house. Was noting this morning as I was walking through the yard, that I may have to break out the weed whacker and tractor this weekend. :D

I went on Home Depot’s site to see if they had Milo in stock. They jacked the price up significantly this year. Bastards!

They did that in the last week I think. I just looked not that long ago and it was in stock at $9.99 like it always is. They can kick rocks at almost $17, that’s a 70% price increase. I just payed $60 for a 45 pound bag of 24-0-6 synthetic online that has 3% iron and south Florida’s version of Milorganite in it as well. They call it “bio-nite” and it sounds like it’s the same stuff. Little pricey but I’ll get 3 applications out of it at 3lb/1000 sq feet.
