I didn't see anything that really should have been an employment terminating offense. I could see her comments potentially riling up some people, but nothing outright despicable.

It's crazy how you have to agree with everything the BLM followers do or you're racist. "I don't think BLM should be burning buildings down and looting." Are you a fucking racist?!?! You just don't like black people!!!

All that being said, if I was a public figure where unpopular social media postings might get me fired, I'd probably keep that shit to myself.

They kinda proved her point though. Who are the fascists again? Certainly not the blue check mark mob that will ruin your life for disagreeing with them politically

Disney wants to promote strong, independent women characters but will cancel anyone for being just that. I'm glad she stood her ground and didn't apologize to the mob. Because an apology never appeases them, it would just makes her look like a coward.

Meanwhile disney will film in a country committing genocide then thank that country's government at the end of said movie.

Not to mention that their namesake is from a dude who was apparently really racist and anti-semetic.

Why does anyone listen to the crazies? Why do the corps listen to them? Are the corp boards full of crazies? First The Expanse, Now Mandalorian. Granted, The Expanse firing was based on more serious accusations but innocent until proven guilty, right?

Cancel Disney+ is trending.

TV show fan, Tim Pool, covers The Mandalorian news.

I just interviewed with Bang Energy and they were going to do a background check on my social media before I was hired. So companies do care what you write and say. I didn’t have a problem with it but when they told me how much they pay... I was like, GTFO. I’m out...

LinkedIn is easy, the remainder of the social media search is tough if a partial or different name, along with one doesn’t post school, previous employer info, or photos that include license plates, addresses, etc.

Yeah, it's wrong to speak your mind. Gotta fit in.

I don't think it's necessarily wrong to speak your mind, but be prepared that it could have a cost if your opinion is unpopular.

If I worked for Disney and had a pretty sweet gig, I probably wouldn't do anything to jeopardize my paycheck. I wouldn't go all-woke and say things I didn't believe, but I certainly wouldn't go against the grain.

It's almost kind of surprising that some people are willing to take that chance. Cancel culture has been around for a while, it's not shocking in the least when people lose sponsors/jobs for unpopular opinions. It's best to keep that shit to your inner circle.

America was built on being a melting pot of different peoples with different ideas. "Don't tread on me!" "Live free or die!" The '60s were a decade of young people sitting around with others who thought differently and discussing ideas, usually over a joint or hit of acid. "Let the sun shine" "Woodstock". Now, we are heading away from personal freedom towards fascism where you toe the line or bad things happen to you.

It's funny that antifa stands for anti fascist but they are the exact opposite of that.
