What's a fair price to install garage heater?

I have a gas heater I bought last year and having such a bitch of a time finding someone to install it. People never show up or call back etc. Finally had someone come out to look at it. Relatively straight forward.

This guy wants me to buy the brackets, all thread, gas pipe and electrical stuff. He will hang it, vent it through the roof and he will 'help' me with electrical. (his words as he wants me to do most of it)
The gas pipe is in the garage about 12' away (straight shot along the wall) and the sub panel is another straight shot of about 5' then 90* down into the box. Or I can remove my existing 220v heater which has bx behind the wall and put a 1900 box and wire it that which is right next to where the new heater will go.

Had a random guy on FB quote me $150 but no idea who he is so I'm passing.
A friend does HVAC for a living but said I had to worry about a roof leak. So passing on him because if you do this for a living you should be comfortable installing a piece of flashing and sealant. And I have a new roof so rather have someone whos comfortable do the install.
Current guy quoted between $450-$550 with me buying the above supplies (I already have the heater and double wall pipe), he needs to get the flashing cap for the pipe.

I did want a fresh air inlet installed but not sure this heater has that option :(
Does that seem priced high?

I’d pay that if the dude was certified and actually did the work. I’ll help a dude hold some shit up but you’re supposedly the expert, you do the work.
He's a teacher so I'm not worried about his certs. He knows what he is doing but didn't sound too comfortable with the electrical.
While I "can" do the work I'm choosing not to as I have a bad back and no way I'm holding that bitch up to the ceiling. This literally maybe the third time I've ever paid someone to do work at my house so not sure of rates. And I dont want to risk fucking up a new roof as I've never done that portion before.

But if it's a fair price I have no problem tossing the guy some money

I’ve had counter tops installed and a concrete patio done ever at a house so in the same boat. Just saying I’d pay that personally IF he was doing the work himself. Kinda sounds like he’s not to me
That was kind of my thing too. He is a teacher and brought a student which is cool. Use it as a teaching tool and not that I'm hiring 2 professionals :)
I also thought I was paying for him to do it not for me to help him. If thats the case I'll grab some guys off the forum and buy a shit ton of beer and pizza.
Shit part is I have a dad and brother that do hvac and would do it for nothing but getting them to come here is a different story. Been asking on/off for about a year and it's not getting any warmer out
