So basically what am I not seeing here? This appears to be a 2020 model, 2nd to top of the line LCD tv. I dont even own a 4K yet and really like LG TVs. Should I buy this or no? I don’t want some shitty tv just to have it be big and 4K but have terrible pixelated motion blur. Also it’d be nice to have a TV with built in apps that actually work unlike my older 1080 TVs. $799 plus a $75 gift card....

Honestly, I'd personally never buy an LG that isnt an OLED. Ive just never been impressed with their non OLED models. The above is budget / entry level tv. If it even does HDR, its going to be garbage more than likely...I doubt the tv gets bright enough to show the benefits.

Id have to look, but I'm pretty sure it has good motion handling for sports and such, however. Had a game mode too, but most tvs have that.

WebOS that powers it, is good and simple to use. So thats a plus.

If you're not in a hurry, I'd wait and see if either the 65" or 75" Hisense goes on sale. Those are GREAT budget tvs that will likely shit on anything LG has that isnt OLED.

Bottom line, tv would probably be fine if you're just looking for something cheap and huge. But if you want to get SOME moneys worth, I'd wait for a sale on Hisense or TCL (6 series usually goes on sale pretty often).

Mook Mook according to them it has HDR 10 which goes up to 1000 nits brightness.
of course I’d want an OLED But I just can’t justify $2000 plus for a tv.
the other one I’ve been looking at is the LG nanocell 85 series that just came out and has the latest image processors. Honestly I only need a 65” but If I could go bigger that’s a plus. It has HDR 10 as well but also Dolby vision. I’m not in a hurry but that tv just seemed like a screaming deal.

honestly ive had nothing but amazing luck with LG TVs. honestly my 1080 main living room tv still looks great. This just seemed like a screaming deal. Honestly if I can watch some 4K YouTube and Netflix on it I think I’d be happy. I’m not a huge movie guy so I’m not sure if HDR 10+ and dolbyvision is a huge priority for me. point is nobody complains about the picture on my 60” TV at home now and I doubt this 75” would be a downgrade. Honestly if the apps work fast and I can get all the major streaming services and baseball and hockey look good I think id be happy.

If it was me, I wouldn't spend the money. But I'm far pickier than most.

So I went to Best Buy today to see the difference between this tv and the nano cell series 85 and 90. Not really too much difference. The 90 was noticeably brighter, but that might just be the settings. Of course the real issue was that right next to them were the OLED tvs and those made everything else look like dog shit so I decided I’ll just wait for OLED to cone down in price

60Hz native refresh rate. Will most likely result in a lot of motion blur or "ghosting" on fast movements. I can't believe there are still TVs that have 60Hz refresh rates this day and age.

I paid $1,100 for a 75" LED with a 240hz refresh rate back in March, and it's awesome. I didn't go OLED because the sales lady said the individual LED's are fragile and can go out if something hits the screen, so I figured I'd skip the OLED because my shithead kids would surely hit it with a football or something.

^^^ This. My buddy had a decent 40-something inch plasma that was a few years old but did everything he needed it to, and it had a decent picture. His oldest was swinging around a wooden mallet in the house and nailed the screen. After being told to put the object down a half-dozen times.

Went to Costco and got the cheapest 4K 40-something inch he could get, with the expectation it would happen again.
