This one came from "southern" Ohio, one owner van, but I don't fully understand why it's so rust free.

Inside the door frame, which there's a pic of here... Is where every other one I looked at, at a minimum, had rust.

current plans-

tint the front's
debadge the rear door
swap my old head unit in from my old truck to have android auto/carplay
backup camera
i need to figure out how the speakers/head phones in the rear work
i'd like to do different wheels/tires if money allows- i had a thought about lifting/leveling it, but its currently RIGHT under 8' tall, and i dont know what things have a clearance of 8' but i feel like i should keep it under that height?
i'd like to get better floor mats for it
ive got my old AGM "good" batteries from my old truck, i'd like to get both in this van, dual battery setups aren't too common but they exist... ive got the expensive part (batteries) why not do it...
mount my old truck's refrigerator somewhere
may need shocks? feels a lil floaty but at the same time it's a bigass van so may just feel this way.

that's what i can think of currently?

needs a detail badly. some trim pieces are faded inside but im not sure i care enough.

Glad you’re keeping the van game alive KJ. I think all of us have some conversion van road trip nostalgia from childhood. They’re such a great deal for what you get, AND NO ONE BUYS THEM

they make SO much sense... SO Much vehicle.

I like GM vehicles, of course... but i wouldn't say im brand loyal. I've owned everything.

Compared to a comparable year (or priced for that matter) suburban/yukon XL, these vans have WAAAAY more interior room, these 5.3's don't have active fuel management, no displacement on demand, etc. parts are like $6 each since these vans have been made since 2002.

Dodged another friend getting a diesel

:fy:

Burnout vids soon? I know vans always get weird drivetrain wise compared to trucks, is it a 6 speed?

no G80 so im unsure what will happen- depending how it is in the snow/winter, maybe it will see daturbosix daturbosix for a TruTrac

it's like they get powertrain updates WAY after the SUV's/Trucks... I mean, 4L60e's until 2014? i had no idea.

  • 4-speed automatic 4L60-E on 1500 (2003–2014)
  • 4-speed automatic 4L80-E on 2500 and 3500 (2003–2009)
  • 6-speed automatic 6L90-E on 2500 and 3500 (2010–present)
  • 8-speed automatic 8L90-E on 2.8L Duramax and 4.3L Ecotec3 V6 engines (2017–present)

no LS motors until 2003? i think.

never had AFM or DOD... cracks me up.

They must of just gotten whatever was left over after the trucks changed

for sure  so random, and seriously the same body parts from 2003 until current still. they have to make so much on these things each year.

other good part of this thing- while no G80, at least it has 3.73's, which with a 30" tire at least it can get out of it's own way.
