What do you do for HIIT?
Normally just go on a treadmill, set incline at 8.5 (incline ftw). Walk at 3.5mph for a couple mins to warm up, then sprint at 9.5mph for as long as I can (which is NOT very long lol), back down to a 3.5mph walk, then repeat. I use HR to gauge how long to do what. It's at 120ish when I'm just walking on the incline at 3.5mph, shoots to 175+ when I finish sprinting, then I walk until it gets down under 150, then sprint again. Can usually get 4-5 sprints in inside of 10 mins and I sweat my ass off being that I'm doing this after already being taxed from lifting.

Working on putting together a basic home gym setup but now isnā€™t the best time to find new shit in stock or used shit thatā€™s not over priced.

Just bought a Rouge Echo Bike to at least get started with some cardio as my main goal is to lose weight. Weighed in at 242lbs beginning of last week, would like to be down to at least 220 by the end of the year and sub 200 end goal. Need to pick up something to track my HR with still so Iā€™ve just been doing calorie target sessions thus far.

Once I build up some stamina Iā€™ll have to look into picking up an actual bike.

How do you like the "step thru" bike? Not talking shit, I have avoided them as I thought they were girls bikes.
Recently found out they are not lol. What size is that frame?

I love the step through, otherwise there would be no way my stubby ass legs would get over ? It is a Trek X-Caliber 7, 18.5ā€ frame with 29ā€ tires. Bike has been greay

Jeeeesus you go 30 miles on that thing? What's the average speed?

On longer rides like 25+ is low 13ā€™s. Iā€™ve recently done 40 miles on the bike. If I am in the 15-20 mile range Iā€™m usually around 14. This was todayā€™s ride, I felt like my legs werenā€™t cooperating ?

Spending money like itā€™s going out of style this week. Itā€™s clear gyms arenā€™t going to open in any real way. I donā€™t even want to step foot in one right now anyways with how fucking germ ridden the place is plus the anti mask tough guy crew thatā€™s undoubtedly there. Prob done with commercial gym for a long time.

dropped coin on american made errthang. Iā€™m in about $1800 so far.

-squat rack
-Adjustable bench
-Bearing barbell
-Bumper plates(non USA made)
-Steel change plates Made locally in Schaumburg

I'd really like to get back in to the gym as well, but they were nasty Petri dishes to start with. Now that people are being unleashed on them after being cooped up for so long most are only thinking of themselves. I was going to PF, and their philosophy of using Sparkle and non-absorbent paper towels made from recycled cardboard isn't a good foundation to start with.

I attempted to use resistance bands that I had lying around, but they really don't do much.

Been going to PF since the day everything opened back up. So far so good. Not very crowded. I wipe everything down before and after I use it, and wash my hands as well a few times during my session. I just stay distant from people. I donā€™t see an issue right now
Started back at LA last week and not very crowded as well. I sanitize every machine or piece of equipment I touch before and after use. Have my own hand sanitizer that I use after every 3rd set as well. I ate very good this week (except the night I ate KFC) and hit the gym 4 days straight, gained 4lbs lol. I'm sure its just water weight from my muscles getting back to being used last 2 weeks.

I've been running alot lately and have really been pushing myself to improve each time. About a month ago I could barely run a mile before I'd said fuck it and start walking. Heck of a mental game. Shitty thing is my knees are starting to ache. Time to switch back to biking for a while!

Get proper shoes if you are getting shin splints and focus on breathing. Distance is forsure a big mental game. Alot of people stop long before their physical capacity gets them.

Haha, it was a "chill" ride.....hungover.

What bike and cog sets do you have? bimmer4life blueoval4life
Nothing fancy. Have a mid grade cannondale I ride paths around here on typical good for 16-18 average. Pretty average components. Then picked up a cheap used road bike (10 years old) off market place. I can put down decent pace on it.

Shoes are key as mentioned below. About 6-7yrs ago, my Wife and I were running 5 days a week with Saturdays being long runs. We would do anywhere from 10-13 miles every Saturday on the Forest Preserve path, so big hills included. I started while still smoking and would run a block or 2, then quit smoking and within a couple months was running timed 5k's. Always finished 2nd or 3rd for my age category, never took 1st. Then challenged myself to make it 5 miles, 7 miles, 10 miles and finally a half. It was 100% mental imo, once you can run 5 miles straight, you should be able to run 10 miles. I just ran out of challenges as I had no desire to run a full marathon and then running got very boring for me. Thats when I started lifting. Also even with the correct shoes, running outside does take its toll on your knees. I blame that for my right knee being as bad as it is now.
