I go to various ponds in subdivisions, including high pressure areas -

Key is:

Strike King white / chrome blade hairpin spinner. Retrieve slow, so you feel the thumping of the blade.

Heddon Lucky 13, walk it slow ensure to stop, let it hesitate. Pops on its own.

5 inch green senko, #3 hook. No sinker. Retrieve a foot, let it sink, wait a couple seconds, retrieve a foot, wait a couple seconds, etc.

Frog - twitch, walk it. Slow retrieve.

Most of those subdivisions I'm afraid to tap into since they are all private by me. Might just have to do it one of these days

What I’m having trouble with is big carp. Sweet corn, night crawlers... nothing

chumming, still nothing
Love carp fishing and eating them. If cleaned correctly, carp is really really good. Mainly used a homemade recipe for bait. I cant remember it but it used marshmallows and strawberry jello and corn meal. Carp fishing is huge in Europe and I found the recipe online. Best store bought stuff I have used is uncle josh's. Caught a lot of carp with that.

My old man and his cousins used wheaties when they were growing up. Get a handful and mash them up with a little pond water in your hand. It will form a dough ball and can be put on a small treble hook. This is primarily fishing for common carp or buffalo carp. Grass carp fishing is very difficult. Also, they have a unique bite to them and it takes a bit to get it down. I usually miss more than I catch. Typically light biters initially then they will take it like a catfish.
