Sounds like he deserved it not listening and talking back.... Wait do these have a history of not turning off? I see in the comments trans fires are occasionally a thing. Hrm not sure. Track guys do look dumb though.

Insurance isn't covering that imo... And under prepared.

Truth Bombs?

I was thinking these guys aren't really setup for this. They look like they are there just to save the driver, after that if it gets big they really don't have the equipment. Screenshot_20190804-101704.jpeg

and i lol at pulling the fuse.... do you think the owner would really know where it is and what to do.

word, pull the fuse panel off and try to figure it out while your car is burning down lol

mine are relocated to the trunk in the heat of the moment my car is burning down it would take me a while to think of that

Yes. This is why you need a battery cut off switch for times like this. We can bitch about safety tech at the track, but here is proof there are reasons for certain rules.

Pretty much this. If the dude was running 10 flats he should have had a cutoff. I'm surprised Dodge hasn't integrated one as an optional feature or even just designed it to make a "kit" easy to build tbh. I mean it's implying you'd drag race it but at the same time enough people will. Ford has put a line lock in some Mustangs so I don't think it's without precedent.

The idea of being in a super fast hi-po car flipped over and not shutting off while pumping gas everywhere doesn't really sit well for me. I'd rather not be a crispy critter.

Camera man is a whiny bitch. Just wanted to say that.

Make a shut off switch as a factory option. Some smart marketing and owners would be willing to purchase even if they never hit a track.

One of the people I had read said take an old tail light, punch a hole in it and swap it in/out for track stuff. That way you could keep prying hands away from it. That said, if you integrated it and made it where you could disconnect it when you're not on the track (Tech should be checking function of this when you start out your day) I would think that a lot of owners would at least want it as a statement of "race car."

That Pink Floyd music in the background tho. Lol.

The driver is an idiot talking back and not taking it seriously at first.

Why didn’t he get out out of the car and look under the hood right away?

I think when someone uses the word “Fire” That’s a pretty good Alert.

i have this in my car
https://www.pointmeby.com/2016/09/16/mount-fire-extinguisher-car-bracketeer-review/

pulled twice now, intel actually has a video of me pulling it on track for an rx8 on fire. wasn't actually used either time though.

on race track it doesn't look like corner workers or fire truck will be hitting you with an extinguisher anywhere near as quickly as you can do it yourself.

video is pretty wild, can't believe the owner starts copping an attitude even if he got one in the first place, have some more concern for the car than being tough. also amazing how everyone is just doing absolutely nothing for so long. that's pretty shocking.
