I guess Yaj Yak and I were having the same sort of idea at the same time and he beat me to the punch and we both took different routes...:werd: Thanks to ilikemtb999 for the knowledge assist.:fy:

It is an M116A3 with an A101A2 bed on it for those that know their lingo.

I need to run it over th scales too and see what it weighs with just the things that are bolted down.

Those trailers aren't light but since you ripped the axle all that would be interested to see.

Its looking great! :nutz: I'm still flip-flopping between a teardrop / hard side thing or doing one of these tent trailers.

What other plans do you have for it? Pressurized water? Solar?

Surge brake removal and axle swap are good for some pretty good weigh reduction. I'd guess surge took 50 off the nose and axle as well as Humvee wheels and tires were good for at least another 150.

Tongue box will be electrical center. Going to do 2 6 volt golf car batteries and a few outlets, lights, inverter, and charging solutions. I'd like a small solar setup to keep it topped up as well as the ability to charge off the truck and shore power might be a good idea too.

Currently working on getting a tarp made to cover the bed then we need to go look at storage solutions for in the bed. Something like Rubbermaid Action Packers or Contigo Tuff Bins. I'd like an awning for the other side.

I'd also like to switch the wheels to match the Colorado bolt pattern so I can use the truck spare on the trailer or use a trailer tire as a truck spare. The tire under the truck isn't full size anymore and it wont fit a full size so it makes sense. Colorado base trucks offer 16" steelies which is perfect just have to find a cheap pair.

Down the road I'd like a fridge, KJ raves about his truck fridge and I can get on board with the benefits. Maybe some onboard water storage... A water tank seems smart but for now we'll probably just do water jugs.

I leave the door open when I an using it she probably closes it.

I laughed at her when she first got it. I probably said something manly about shitting over a log. First time I used it I was sold.

I dig that setup... Its pretty compact and still seems really useful. My wife loves her bathroom time so I'd guess we are going to need to get a honey pot sooner rather than later.

I'll add this to the research list

It does fold up very compact. Privacy is nice as well. I would recommend it if you guys are looking for something like that.

I had previously looked at Cassette toilets. I have a little more room than you so it could work for me. It is slightly more home toilet like too which Heather may prefer.

We'll likely start out at places with full facilities so I don't need it immediately.

Funny observation. I don't have any leveling or stability jacks and it doesn't want to tip.

There is a some nice give to the suspension so it does move around but it feels really stable. I'm honestly surprised. I was expecting to have to do jacks and now Im not sure what i am going to do. Especially if I left it hooked to the truck...

I'm not looking to drop over a grand into that storage system. I can get real nice totes for 50 each and that keeps it modular. I'd like to be able to use this as a utility trailer a couple times a year and totes are easier to dump into my garage.

Stop being selfish buddy, Columbus wasn't looking for America but that seemed to work out for everybody, you're here.

I should phrase that better. Im not doing zero. I just don't think I need a set of 4 leveling jacks with one on each corner like camper.

M101s had one drop leg stabilizer in back as an option. I didn't get that because I put a rear hitch in that spot but I could do something similar and that way I'd be good to go.

ah okay i thought you meant 0

yeah i think 4 is unnecessary

I like to overkill some times. I was also worried that with the cantilever that it would be a weird lean, but the ladder is a supporting element so that eliminates a really wicked lean.

Ah cap'n I do have a question for you...

I have this: https://www.dutton-lainson.com/proddetail.php?prod=22210

And it goes up and down great, but the wheel on the bottom doesn't turn so good. Like I have to kick it to change direction which is quite annoying. The unit has two grease fittings which I hit hard. Not sure if you know how I might fix this? Otherwise I'll give them a call.
