I think all blower style factory cars are extremely overrated on power. They make that power in absolutely ideal conditions, let them sit for like 3min idling with the hood closed, they lose 100hp.

yea it's pretty bad in hot weather. it was 90-100* at NFZ at Rantoul last time. supercharged GM cars were cooking . My 620whp GTR was beating 770whp C7 Z06 from a 40mph roll . I did 1 dig run against c7 z06 , I'm pretty sure I crossed the 1/2 mile mark first before he did 1/4 mile mark :bowrofl:

Weight doesn't matter in a roll race? Please go on...

Not as much from a dead stop it doesn't.

I remember the days of racing stock to bolt-on C5Z's in my 03 Cobra and hanging with them, despite being over 300-400LBS heavier and barely making as much power.

Besides, there is barely a 100lb difference between the ZR1 and GT from what I just googled (FGT 3485 vs ZR1 3560)

well and traction... i remember plenty of cars at the half mile blowing the tires off well into the track

That is true, but, I am confident both cars spun and the GT, being a bit lighter, albeit down oer 100+ HP and not S/C gave it an edge.

Still, GT beat it in both areas pretty handily.

Please tell us how the laws of physics don't apply to roll racing. haha

The weight difference and where those weight differences are make up more than people probably figure. The 100 pounds isn't just 100 pounds. The unsprung and rotational weight. The suspension design and carbon fiber wheels all have small advantages that add up. Even though it is "only" 100 pounds weight difference, it is about how those weight savings was used. Change where and how that weight is used in the car and it's performance would change for sure. Plus the mid-engine design will also aid in weight distribution and how power is put down.

The vette is no joke. On a prepped track that the vette would hook well on and this could have been a much closer race. If not a different result.

No matter what, owning either car means you have a great car.
