So my Sister got T-Boned a week ago and had a sudden dire need for a replacement vehicle so I'm giving her my Bucket of Luxury Range Rover as I've come to terms that I'm too OCD to deal with having 20 tiny issues.

That being said, after going to the Autoshow yesterday I had a moment of clarity:

Everything that's being sold today is either too friggen expensive, or doesn't meet my needs and I went out and bought another used Suburban that ticked all my boxes for 3% of the cost of a new one.

Its a 2003 Z71 in Black over Grey, 2 owner with 153k on the clock. I've been talking back and forth with the owner for a few weeks. He was asking quite a lot of money for it being a lower mile Z71 Burb in Black that wasn't totally rotten out so it hadn't moved, and after looking at it last night we came back down to earth and we came to an agreeable price.

Already had the Fuel Pump and Brake Lines replaced along with new tires (So its practically where I left off with my Tan Burb). Lots of other good newer parts (Battery, Blower Motor, and other nick nacks), and the things it needs are all pretty minor/typical (Wheel bearing *ABS Light*, Cracked exhaust manifold, paint flake on tail gate, fresh fluids as its been sitting for a while).

The new tank (Need some daylight photos later)

Already ordered my wiring harness kits and phone mount so I can set it up as my old one was with my CarPlay headunit, Backup Camera, and a hard-wired phone dock and Dash Cam.

The dark side, we have cookies, and suburbans. Welcome back!

I was at Dinner with my Father in Law the other day (Who just got into an accident with his 2018 RST Burb) and we were talking about how much he wanted to buy a brand new Range Rover SVR.

He ended up saying "I've wanted a Range Rover all my life, but I've had Suburbans for the past 20 years, and they just Work. I cannot wake up in the morning and worry about my truck doing what I need it to do every day."

You can do a generic thermostat style switch for e fans or a tune. If you’re not working it hard I think e fans are a decent choice.

I bought some super cheap speed engineering headers off of eBay and coated them with cerakote ceramic. No idea how long they’ll last.

I always love me a suburban. I'd have one in a hot minute if I had an actual need for one.

It’s one of few vehicles that can basically “Do Anything” but at the cost of fuel.

Congrats, I love the Z71
I have a head unit and all harnesses for sale if your looking and want to cancel your order.

This is ones a little weird that it doesn’t have steering wheel controls but DOES have the Bose system. The wiring kit was cheaper because it didn’t need the PAC module or anything like that, just the dinger.

Way back in the day my mom had a late 80's early 90s square body burban. I used to love taking that out. It was like driving my living room on the road

I'm driving the Rover Back to Back at the moment with the Burb and the contrast is VERY interesting.

I don't mean in the sense of "Quality", I mean just in the sense of Design and I guess target audience. Stupid little things like the abundance of storage nooks in the Burb, and things that were designed to be grabbed by chunky gloved hands etc.

Hard-Wired my switch panel with USB, mounted my ProClip for the phone docked to car play, and buried the radar wire.

Gotta run a switched source to the switch panel for when I have accessories and my dash camera mounted up and I’ll be golden. I’ll do that when I run the Backup camera wire the next decent day we get.
