Just got this bad bitch on saturday. 2016 SRT with only 7,500mi on the clock.

Thing pulls like a raped ape from a dig. 8 speed trans is phenomenal too. Way faster than my trans am in street driving.
vid my friend took doing a launch. (didnt realize it was in manual shift mode)

Congrats on the awesome purchase. I had a 2014 and loved that thing, hence the reason I dumped my Hellcat and will be looking at Trackhawks in the Spring. Dont bother using the launch control, its pretty fucking stupid imo. Pro Charger D1 and a good tune and these things are absolute monsters if you decide to go that route in the future.

Are the 6.4's stronger in the Cherokee than the Chally/Charger? I know in the cars, the 6.4's aren't really strong enough to handle much over 6psi.
Nope. Good tune and you can run 8lbs safely. I know bunch of local people running 8lbs and even higher. Guy with a turbo running around at 12lbs. He beats the shit out of it, so probably on borrowed time.

I think I heard the previous gen SRT8’s with the 6.1 had forged pistons but the current 6.4 does not.

I know I’m deff gonna get the itch to mod this thing. Its still got a 2.5 year power train warranty on it though. What’s been everybody’s experience with mods and not getting the warranty void? I talked to the service guys at st Charles Chrysler and they said the number one thing that goes on these SRT’s is the transfer cases from people beating on them.

6.1's definitely handled boost better. My 08 with heads/cam and blower I thru 10-12lbs at it and BEAT the fuck out of it. Only major thing I blew was the tranny.

Make friends with the service guys/writer at your preferred dealer and try to feel them out as far as mods. Exhaust and CAI not worth the dough unless your throwing a tune at it to compensate for those bolt on mods. You can do an email tune with a Diablo product for a couple hundred bucks. I'm not sure about the PCM though. Might have to buy another just for the tune and swap them before going to dealer for any work. Easy swap, takes about 15 minutes iirc.

First mod if it was me would be a catch can. Billet Tech makes the nicest ones but the wait can be 8-10 weeks. Check out the Jeep SRT Forum, might be able to snag a used Billet Tech or find an alternate.

Yes keep that fluid fresh in transfer case. If your not excessively beating the shit out of it then follow the normal recommendations.

St. Charles CDJ is the only dealer that actually fought Chrysler with me on getting our van repaired when it was sucking down 4 quarts of oil (on a 5 quart sump) in <2,000 miles. Bill Kay in Naperville (where we originally bought it from) before they were closed pretty much brushed us off, Feeny (or now Elgin CDJ), kept putting me through oil consumption test after oil consumption test and then claimed nothing was wrong.

So this one is pretty fair. I've dealt a lot with them between both vans. Among the numerous little things that have gone wrong on them, they've replaced the engine and trans in the old van (under the lifetime powertrain warranty) and replaced the entire valvetrain on the Pentastar V6 on the '15.
