im looking to pick up a new daily. i currently daily a 00 grandprix with 230K miles on it and drive 40min to work each way. im wanting to get something with a little more options. I'm not looking for a pure performance vehicle perse as i'll only be let down due to having my vette.

*edit*

i've considered upping the budget a tad, but im really wanting to stay at the price point as to not clear out my savings. after more research and test driving a few vehicles i've narrowed it down to either 10 CTS awd, 12 vw CC, 14 vw passat. wanting something that has a more luxorious feel with plenty of options. my dad has had a 15 and 18 passat and i enjoy his the few times ive driven it. but the CC still rides nicer and has more options as this price point. test drove the CC and the CTS today and am liking them both.

The Volvo options might not be so bad, but they share a lot of cons with the German options.

e.g. S60R w/ less than 100k:

'08 S60 2.5T AWD <90k miles:

'06 S60R w/ 6XXXX:

'04 S60R w/ <100k

'08 XC70 3.2, <100k

'07 XC70 2.5T, 111k

etc...

But they're probably going to be the same sort of handful as a VAG at that age. I just think they're a nice option and pretty practical. Some are relatively quick too.

The Subarus will all be terribly slow without a turbo, and only "fun" when there is snow on the road, which will be about 2% of your commute. I'd say the 2012 CC might be the best choice for "fun", but look into having the upper end of the motor walnut blasted to get rid of carbon deposits from the direct injection.

I think there are better options out there than the ones you selected, though.

Is the price range $7k? I don't see it in the OP but do see it in one of the followup posts

The only german car i'd consider at that price range would be a jetta or passat. I agree with the accord though....whatever accord you can afford would be better than all of the german options

correct, i'm wanting to stay around 7-8K. and wanting a more luxurious ride quality and options. the passat shares same drive train as the CC, but the CC is more luxurious. hell, i'm pretty sure the Audi a4 shares the same 2.0t also.
