Some dumb bitch backed it to the Wifeys 18 Cherokee and fucked up rear drivers side door. She has some shit insurance I never heard of and they are insisting we use their choice of body shop. The body shop they want us to go to literally looks like a 3 car garage at a house in Hanover Park. I literally told them to go fuck themselves I'm getting it repaired at my choice of shop after going back and forth for 30 minutes. Have not got my insurance involved yet but might have to have them pay for it and go after her insurance. Went to my guy and got an estimate and its right around $2k for new door skin, blending front door etc. My guy said her insurance will probably want to "repair" the door vs putting a new skin on. Thats not happening, I will pay out of pocket for a new skin if it comes down to it. So my question is, can I seek diminished value, since its going to show up on Carfax?

In the report are they listed as Unit 1? And you said “backed into” the wife’s 18 Cherokee so they’re at fault party and should be responsible. Also I would go through your insurance and avoid the aggravation or provide 3 quotes from reputable repair shops and tell them to cut you a check.

Well the bad news is that American Access Insirance is not rated by AM Best nor Fitch. We do not deal with any insurance companies below an A rating. This means that they are either too small or haven’t been in business long enough. I am afraid that it is the former.

In the case of getting diminished value for the Jeep, I would submit to Safeco. You will have to pay your deductible but it will be recouped in the settlement. But in this case, it is highly adviseable. If you have any questions, feel free to PM, text, or email me.
