Ford is so far behind everybody else when it comes to electric hybrid I seriously doubt it. And I would never trust a ford electric hybrid as compared to say a GM who have mountains of data with the voltec program

They will buy the tech from someone else. I highly doubt even this Mach 1 whatever system will be developed by Ford.

Wait a minute, discussing hybrid technology in a 2019 GT500 thread?

Good Lord this thread has been derailed.

There is no question the Boss was a good car. Especially since Ford had always been behind other cars in the segment when it came to braking and handling. If you could pick one up cheap it wouldn't be a bad buy at all. But it isn't going to be as good as a GT350. Same pro driver, same track, on the same day and the GT350 is going to have better lap times. Magazines were getting quicker time with the 2017 GT track pack than the Boss. Newer chassis, new suspension, more power, and so on. The newer cars have more going for them. The main advantage to the S197 chassis is the raw feeling the car gives you. It is a blast to drive. But the solid axle can make it tough to stay planted on a rough road course. The bumps coming into the turn at the Autobahn upset my 2011 GT a lot. So much so that I had to change my line dramatically to not have the car feel like the rear end was going to pass the front end

If a Boss is in your budget, you like the looks and want a fun car to drive, don't hesitate to buy one. I have no doubt you will enjoy it. Especially when you see how much you saved over buying a GT350 lol

I am interested to see how the GT500, or whatever it gets called, handles on the streets and road course. Will it be more stop light to stop light bruiser or more road course capable than any GT500 before it.
