Ive noticed, that on days were I only get 3-4 hrs of sleep that i loose my appetite and nothing really seems like its going to taste good. Anything sweet taste horrible...drinks...candy. I pretty much just have to force myself to eat to satisfy my stomach. Then if I get a good nights sleep its all gone the next day.

So does anyone else get this?....or something else weird when you get a lack of sleep? :)

I think it has something to do with the extra chemicals your body produces to keep you up with such a little amount of sleep. Something along the lines of concentrating on one thing instead of the other. I pop a multivitamin and usually feel better in a bit (you could do speed too, but I don't recommend drugs).

When you dont sleep right your body gets confused. for instance, a lot of your digestion happens while you are sleeping. if you get up early you interupt this process. Some people get the shits, some get constipated, but either way you effect the process.

could explain why you have a different appetite when you dont sleep well. A lot of your appetite during the day is caused by your bodies needs. if you are low on water, you are thirsty. if you are low on salt you will crave foods that provide salt. My guess is something in what you avoid eating on those days of little sleep is in excess or would make your body upset, so you havea temporary dislike of the food.

You should try working shift work. You literally don't know what day it is most of the time. And your metabolism is much different. I can eat pizza, full dinner at 8:00 in the morning when I get off of midnights and am just fine. Whoever invented shift work should have been shot!!!

Yep. Im working on the ass end of a 12 hour overnight shift. Have another one tomorrow. then i get 36 hours off, (sat/sun) and I am back at it at 6 am monday. Three day shifts, 2 night shifts every week. I keep track of time by knowing which week of the month it is, and when i willget paid. the date means nothing to me anymore.
