Charles, I'm right there with you. I never intended to make rails for anyone but myself. If I can have them made, and if enough people were in a group buy, was my intention by posting this. I wouldn't want to personally carry the liability on this. As far as the rails go, it's not rocket science. Any competent machine shop can do the work, it's just finding one willing to do it for the price. So far, I've only been doing qouting with people the specialize in FI for peace of mind.Originally posted by beyerch@Jul 14 2004, 10:57 PM
yeah not to be a doubter but i've been on both sides of the fence as far as DIY goes.
I really don't think fuel rails, etc, are something I would trust ANYONE here with doing. No offense, but I have had the "honor" of seeing quite a few cars go up in flames from owners making custom fuel adapters, rails, etc. Its not worth it guys.
$399 seems like a lot of money, and I don't plan on buying one in the near future, but if Ron calculates his hourly pay rate, the amount of time he's put in this endeavor, then the time and money to add in the missing parts, i'm sure he will well be over $399.
I don't think even DIY will get you much lower than $250. So ... is risking your safety and your car worth that extra $149 ??
I don't think so honestly.
This is NOT a slam on ANYONE here, I'm just stating what I have seen from working on many cars.
