There have been complaints that when we have our race day that there are not enough runs down the track.
unfortunately this is the nature of Byron and bracket style racing.

so vote now and let me know what type of racing you want this time....:

bracket style (our current style)... I can guarantee at least 4 runs per person if you are there when time-trials start.

time-only racing (like IDD).... we will prolly get more runs than 4 (6... maybe more) but I cant guarantee that at all.

I go with time just because more runs. BUT, I wouldn't mind bracket racing either.

remember.... I CANT GUARANTEE you will get more runs with the time -only style but it is possible...

I know this is a weird one, but how about both? If we did time trials for each class, and the fastest few cars for those classes got into the brackets?

I think it is gonna have to be one or the other. I dont know if I could accomodate that kind of thing with byron. and it would be a coordination nightmare.
I think it would piss some people off too...

as it is, it will be really hard for me to keep everything together if we do timetrial only since everyone will be staged at once. we wont have all the staging lanes and trying to cordinate having the classes go up at certain times will be nuts....

Hmm..I thought the reason why we picked a certain race day was becuase we would have the track to ourselves..besides another club that was going to be there...which i forgot who they are?

I also thought we did this so we could get alot more runs in?

Or did I misunderstand the original race day thread?

i think you mis-understood Joe,
we picked this day to coincide with the mod day, then someone decided to have the mod day on a different day then it was decided to put it back the way it was.

you will NEVER get a track to yourself unless you rent it out on a weekday or a saturday. byron will not rent the track out....
byron was chosen for a few reasons. 1st, it has been the track we have been going to for our races days for the past 5 races (dating back to the CGPC days too). 2nd it is the closest track to the mod day (about 20 min away....).

we did not choose it cuz we have it to ourselves (see above) and the fact that the cobras will be there was a bonus... a chance for us to spank some pony a$$

Both, like IDD was this year. You have the brackets, but you also have something for the fastest people there.

Although id imagine it would be a nightmare to run something like that unless we have the track to ourselves only.

I'm going to vote brackets! Thats so much fun - win or lose! Time trials we will get at least 2-3 runs. Then count in the 1st bracket race - so thats already 3-4 runs right there! Then if you win, more runs! Time races - we can go anywhere for that kind of race. We only do full club racing twice a year, so why not make it brackets!

Hey Chris;

I honestly don't care what we do I enjoy anytime at Byron as long as I run. Just as long as no punk ass kids start spilling everything on the track I don't mind the wait. I know on Sunday's the track is packed common sense everybody hits the track on Sunday's its like the church for the racers. I'm going to have a good time regardless. Whatever you guys decide is ok for me.

I agree with brackets...even though i'm not running, i'll be video taping and it gives every car a chance to win....not just the fastest. It'll be less stress on you (and probably me and tracy too since I told you last year I'd help out again) and a lot easier to keep track of who wins what.
