I have a couple questions in anticipation of getting "chilled".

1. What type of heat transfer device are you using on the front of the car? I am putting in a 30,000GVW transmission cooler Monday as well as all the necessary plumbing, and a 16gpm electric pump. I'm confident the cooler will be sufficient, but what's everyone else using? It's not too late for me to change.

2. What type of fluid are you running through the system?

That's all. Relatively straightforward questions I suppose.

i believe i read an article on one of the websites that specialize in our cars that automatic transmission coolers for our cars dont really do anything besides add weight because even when you run alot of horsepower and the trans does fail, its never from to much heat but just breaking pieces in the transmission.

Went looking at some trans coolers need to find something alittle bigger then what we were looking at. Plus I like having the 3/4 outlet that is on the Jegs. I have done some searching for IC radiators with little luck.So basically going to end up with the jegs one.
Hale, what size trans coolers were you looking at?

The one I am using has 5/8th fittings and is 30,000GVW in size. It's a stacked plate Vs Tube & Fin.

To give an idea of a footprint, it looks a little smaller than the A/C condensor.

The intercooler company told me that the most effective cooling is done with 50/50. I would not suggest a trans cooler becuase they generally do not thin out the fluid enough for proper cooling needs of an IC. They normally are designed with the big tubes with fins attached. You want one that splits it into little rails and that way gives the fluid a better chance to cool off since it is more spread out ;)
