No, the pre 1999 had 300 at the crank. Then like 1999+ was suppose to have 320, but they screwed up and had to halt production...hehe ford.

I think those are the years and number anyways. But yea, he should of put down more than that stock. That would be a serious kick in the balls.

Edit: fixed some stuff.

a stock gt is probably only putting a lil over 200 hp to the ground. So the cobra would still have 30 hp on it.

Since those are suppose to have 300hp stock, and it only produced 230, thats like a 25% loss in power from the crank to the wheels. If the gt is set up that badly and assuming it has 260hp at the crank, thats only 195hp at the wheels. Does that number sound familiar to anyone else?

yea the 98s were dogs ... 99+ weren't bad but as mentioned they had some problems in the first part of the 99 run...

My buddy Davin has a 99 Cobra that he had svt do some work to right away (lower intake and something else)... he dynoed 308/318 on a mustang dyno ... so on a dynojet (what most of us use) it would be even higher...

But due to his driving and the fact that he's scared of snapping his stock half-shafts (plus he's only been to the track like twice) he hasn't been able to muster faster than a 13.2 ...

wanna bet hehe... i'm waiting to lay the smack down on a few 03 cobras this year :) :) unless he's booted he's not going to hook for crap (though I can't hook either) ... plus from the dynos I've seen the modded ones make awesome peak power but they don't have a huge area under the curve... meaning their powerband is only huge for a limited range... I can't wait to whack a few in my lil ole push rod powered NA motor hehe

and 98 gtp toy is right.. for the 03s they had to stop production for a period due to quality control issues...

and i'm pretty sure you can just throw pullies on since it's already intercooled from the factory, although i'm sure intake and exhaust would def help, those things are no joke

yeah its something like 500 crank and then 390-400 RWHP. It is not that much.

Horist-you going with the MFBA to dyno? Just asking......
yup i'll be there, most likely dynoing (hopefully on the gun ... shooting for 520rwhp and 550 rwtq on spray ... though I think the torque is going to be lower than that... )

and yea... 500 crank is alot... but from the dyno graphs i've seen it's really peaky... so they don't have a ton of useable power... I'm not scared :) ... this year hehehe

this year my only goal is to not break anything :)

That being said... I want to see 10s (specifically 10.6ish) in it full weight... (most likely on a small dry shot) ... drive to the track, run 10s and drive it home :)

I'm stillin payin off the 382 stroker motor so can't get a roll bar for a month or so (but US41 are being hardasses about rules this year ... so I'll need a 6 pt and a fire suit :() ...
