I've gotta Nextel i95cl... was going to upgrade to the I730 but didn't hear many good reviews on it and a few peops I know have it and aren't impressed w/it...

so I decided to get one of those housings for it on Ebay...

Got 2 of them... that i'm going to mix...

Black Pearl for most of it.. but the center part of the flip part will be ruby red

so it'll be black w/a red stripe to match the car hehehe

Im on the brink of going nextel myself and was planning on the I730 phone..

What have you heard thats bad about it. I found a place i can get it for free after rebates and crap. 2 year contract though

from people I've talked to sounds like the I730 isn't much more than the I95... same options features (little more memory) ...

I730 is 65K color display... but a buddy last saturday said he's getting really poo rsignal from it... (he used to have an I90) and i've heard that from a few people... the guy i talked to saturday said he looked into it and found that there is an issue w/them and it would most likely be corrected via firmware in a few months (not sure that I agree w/this... firmware correcting hardware reception... (not noise related) ... but was enough to turn me off from upgrading my working phone)


plus... i've decided to wait until nextel has integrated camera phones .. (which is coming... or at least that lil birdy told me!)

Is it a pia to remove/replace the old cover? I picked up an i60 from ebay and there's a ton of covers for sale too that look pretty cool. let us know how difficult it is.

changing a housing on a flip phone is a risky thing to do if you've never done it before!! One little mistake and your phone is trashed!! I would suggest doing some searching before you jump into changing the housing. There are a couple of ribbons inside the phone and if they get damaged your f*&ked!!!!!

Orland Mall, has a little shop that does it for its like 30 bucks..more than u pay for the case lol... but least ur not trashin a 250 dollar phone

I have changed it on an i60c.
It is not too bad and I could help you do it or give you the tips and tricks...

the i60 will be a little bit easier because there is no screen on the outside of the flip. If I remember correctly there is a video available for download of someone doing a housing swap, search the ideninsider or Hofo if you would like to take a peek at it.

Also I think there is someone on this board that does housing swaps as well, I just can't remember who it was.
