This is Scott from Specialty Motoring Products. I saw I was getting some hits from this forum, so I thought I’d pop in and check things out. After reading this thread, I guess I can help shed some light on the process and products used.

Clay Bar – A clay bar is not to be confused with a polish, paint cleaner or swirl remover. It is a completely different animal that has one job; to remove contaminants from your paint’s surface. This would include industrial fallout, rail dust, brake filings and other things that embed themselves in the paint. It works like a magnet. As it glides along, it picks up these things and holds them in the clay. It makes the surface clean and smooth so it is ready for the next step. It makes a very big difference in the finished product.

Vanilla Moose Hand Glaze – This is the stuff I sent samples out of. The 2-3 ounces you received is more than enough to do an entire car. Vanilla Moose has minor polishing properties, oils and some protection. It makes a good start to two-step process for detailing a car. It does not replace a paint cleaner, polish or swirl remover. What it does do is add great depth and wonderful shine. Vanilla Moose is a wipe on wipe off product. It does not require ‘scrubbing’ and light pressure in a back and forth motion is all that should be used.

Carnauba Moose Wax – This is your top coat of wax, or last step product. The wax offers the protection and gives paint the “wet look” that everyone notices. This is also a wipe on wipe off product. However, you apply it thin and with very light pressure.

I recommend the use of either Viking Handi-Grip applicators or MF applicators for Vanilla Moose and the supplied foam apps for Carnauba Moose Wax. I always recommend microfiber towels for removing residue. Quality 100% cotton towels will work well too.
