Shut up Pratt! I'm trying to be financially conscious

Dude, I got ride of my 2001 Z71 for this car. The 5.0 gets way better gas mileage and insurance is cheaper. It IS financially conscious to buy a new 5.0 some times! haha

Pratt, your 5.0 is looking good. Didn't you buy Brembos?

Thanks. No I did not buy Brembo brakes yet. With out any track days I have not worried about it yet. They say the braking in not any better. Epsecilly on the street where you usually do not come close to using most of the brakes there. The advantage is better heat management for brake fad and quick change pads. So until I get to the track I am ok. If I find a stellar deal on a set I have cash to buy a kit. But until them I can hold out.

Thanks guys! Ya, these are pretty far from what mustangs use to be. They ride great, are comfortable and move out damn good just stock.

Agreed. I have drove the Acura CL S-Type on crappy days. That is a nice car. But not as nice as the GT. I actually miss driving the GT. haha

You don't have to sell me on Brembos. I've been keeping an eye out for some take off's.

You could always do stainless lines which will give a more consistent firmer pedal feel for now and flush with good fluid. The lines will work with Brembos.

If the Brembos offered better braking distances I would have done it already. But they don't shine unless on the track. Sooner or later I will come across a good deal and will get a set.

The lines I am not sure about. There was a big thread some where that had the engineer that developed the S197 brakes posting in it. He showed that the stock lines were VERY good for the application. That the amount of expansion of the stock lines would not be felt. Plus they are a lot less prone to fail. I was surprised to see how many guys posted up about failed stainless lines. Several causing crashes on road courses. So not exactly sold on the stainless lines just yet. haha

How much are take offs? Why not look at stoptechs or something? Better brake for probably not much more.

They are $1300 new. Used take offs usually go for $700-$900. I expect them to come down some as there are a lot more Brembo package cars on the road. Stoptech will run $2500+ A mono block caliper would be better for sure. But I don't see me pushing this car so hard that I need THAT much brake & sturdy of a caliper.

Wilwood ftw.

Maybe. Again, not really looking to go crazy with the car yet. Or spending that kind of money on front and rear brakes. But I never say never. haha

Honestly the brakes are fine for now. I am much more interested in a seat that holds me better than the brakes. The factory Recaro seats are amazing. But only available in cloth at the moment by Ford Racing. Hopefully they will have the leather and suede versions soon.
