I purchased led clusters that are brighter and are not too far off, don't have pics and car in storage right now. But check out below, if anybody orders any let me know, may have you order me 2 with yours, I know I ordered 2 extra, but have to look through my stuff. The 4LED are perfect 6led way too bright.

yes, there is a hole under the center dash pod now. the dash itself is about an inch thick of padding, so it made a bit of a mess. there's no room for a drill with the windshield in the car, so i used my dremel.

the character builder was that coolant temp sensor in the block.

each gauge pair took me about a day, but its february and i work outside so that means lots of breaks to warm up. i also used solder and shrink tubing, so that took a little longer than it would be if i had schlocked up the job with butt connectors.

all thats left now is the a-pillar pod with engine oil temp, trans temp, and diff temp :D

Nice pics. Looks Great! How many hours you got into it? Did you drill a hole in the dash for the pod? How does that attach? I bet that was a charactor builder if you had to drill holes in the dash.

Nice installs John!!

How is the visibility of the gauges on the top of the dash?
Does it effect the driving visibility, say seeing the right front corner of the car any?
Did you rotate it towards the driver's position at all? Sorry can't tell from the pics.
Which gauges did you mount in it?

Thanks,
Dan

the center dash pod has boost and fuel pressure gauge, the dash cluster has water temp and oil pressure. an a-pillar pod will eventually be added with temp gauges for engine, trans, and diff. knowledge is power!

i did not angle the pod towards me. they're plenty visible, but a bit distracting. not like i really need to see my boost anyway. its just for personal amusement. if the fuel pressure drops off, there's not much i can do anyway other than shut the car off, but a car with no fuel pressure probably wont run anyway, so....this is why i think those two gauges are pure eye candy. i like candy.

the only thing that bugs me about it all is the night vision of the gauges. they're pretty dim with the green cover on the bulbs, and from the center dash pod, there's some glare on the windshield at night. reflections on the windshield bug me. oh well. i have yet to experiment with the bulbs. several people have recommended to me the LED conversions. as the old saying goes, your mileage may vary.

thanks for the compliment, dan. you know a good job from a bad job.

oh yeah - the clip is supposed to stay inside the headlight knob, not on the shaft. if it stays on the shaft, you broke the knob and owe ford $16 to get a new one, and get this, it comes on the shaft already....

not like the old days where you push the button on the switch :(

no, that was my engine temp. i dont have the same overheating troubles everyone else does. my car only got above 200 on the cooldown lap and on the the return road into the paddock area. but it was also about 48 degrees outside.

diff cooler is on the living room floor along with a coil of -10 braided hose and a bunch of aeroquip fittings....i've been running for two years now on the same clutch pack, and no one-wheel-peel yet. if it aint broke, im not fixin it. t2r and 3.73 gearset ready for when it does go, though...

i must be getting better at braking becuase i tried hawk blues again and this time i loved them.

How were the gauges @ Putnam Park? Do you have any aftermarket coolers for the Diff/Trans/Engine?

Saw something on SVTP where you said gauge didn't go past 210? Was that diff?

-10? That's a big line! :biggthump I thought most were going w/ -8 since it was close to 3/8NPT. I also noticed the 10AN fittings were @ quite a premium compared to 8AN when using 3/8NPT. That is, unless you went 1/2NPT. :headbang:

Did you use a different pressure sender? The one I am using is much larger.

What is the problem w/ the coolant temperature sender? It looks like a slam dunk. Is it metric pipe or something?

Were those plugs/quick disconects optional on your senders? None of my senders have the quick disconects except the FPS. And advice re: dash pod?

the only issue with the engine temp sender is getting a face full of antifreeze. i'm one of those guys who would ordinarily wear a white lab coat when working on the car.

I kind of figured out that is what you meant. If you think that was fun (The pipe plug) try the LDC mod when you have to actually look at what you are hitting and then you have a 1" freeze plug hole. Water comes out a lot faster and straight @ you. That little 1/4" NPT is nothing in comparison since you can remove it by feel w/o even looking @ it. Just a little antifreeze dripping down your arm... lol

I got short sweep gauges. Not sure of the difference and didn't know they were offered both ways...
