lol, picked such a great time to give a link to ModularFords Don :p They are down for the weekend

PS - Anyone else notice that JDM, HBH and MD all announced their new fuel systems within 2 days of each other?

Coincidence or each company hearing the others were releasing their products? Word gets around.

I could see a combination of the 3 kits, pulling the best features from each.
All have both strong and weak points.
Good points:
Separating the two pumps inside the tank.
Two #6 fuel lines exiting the tank feeding into the filter.
High capacity filter.
#8 line from filter to engine.
Fabric line.

I will probably start working on one in my spare time this summer, just to see what happens.

i would put the filter before the check valve to keep contaminants out of the valve. but thats just where my reasoning takes me.

I agree, but the problem arises when one of the pumps slows down or stops working. Then the remaining pump can feed back to the tank through the non-working one.
One solution would be 2 filters with built in check valves, but now we are getting more complicated.

Correct me if I'm wrong.. Isn't there check valves already in the tank, on the pump setup?? I had asked about this and Jim (JDM) said when they seperate the pumps they aren't having any problems.. I'm not sure if they just haven't had a pump stop working or what...

I don't know ... yet
It is possible there are check valves in the pumps, but then why would there be a separate piece in the line on the stock setup? It is mounted just after the pump outlet inside the tank.

I will find out as I start playing around with it later this spring.

I'd like to get the pump and tank setup (with -6 fittings) then source and put the rest of it together myself. I like your idea of the -8 line to the front, but somebody mentioned an issue with it (like the pumps couldn't maintain pressure in that big of a "pipe"). :dunno:

Give me a call when you get a chance. I have a few things I'd like to discuss on this with ya.

I'll have to try to find more information but I think with this setup, the fuel rails become the roadblock or restriction and once the supply line is full, the
-8 supply line should no longer be an issue.

All of the fittings and lines are readily available except the ones exiting the tank. That one has to have a 1/4 or 5/16 O.D. on the inlet side and the other end (outside the tank) has to be a -6 and be a 90 degree bend. Worst case scenerio is an existing one would have to be modified slightly. I may still be able to find something close though. There are weld-on ends that can be used too. They could be welded to the proper size tube.

Ok, I talked to someone who would know.

He said if the pumps can fill the line, they would stay full and maintain the pressure, provided the fuel consumption did not exceed the pump output.
So the limiting factor in this scenario is the pump capacity, not the line size.

We would have to determine if the stock pumps, with a more free flowing fuel system, can support 700+ HP or whatever the goal is.

I can tell you guys that on Race fuel, I'm getting 700rwhp with the "stock modded" pumps.. On JDM system

I do think, doing it yourselves would save some money.. And its not like it would be hard to do...

This is a quote from Wilson & Co.

Yep,

I made my own early last year. The biggest thing these guys need to do, and I'm sure JDM does, is junk that check valve in the pumps assy and put a -8 external check valve (or whatever size line your running) in the line.

That POS is the most restrictive part of the stock system IMO. 2nd would be the filter probably

Roger

I'm not sure JDM is junking the stock check valves.. my .02
