Need a trailer for a few days

I would like to rent or borrow a trailer for a few days next week. Actually 4 or 5 days.
The car is going to Hermann's (HBH) and I figure it would be a better idea to tow than drive it there. He is going to put the final touches on the tune I have been screwing around with, for a number of reasons, all summer.
I may just have him do the Whipple while I'm there too.

It's about 675 miles each way.
Besides then I have something to drive while in MD.

Email me if you can help me out.

Thanks
Dan

My girls dad has a open car trailer in Roselle but it has not been used for a while. No tags and stuff. Not sure how the tires or lights are. It has dual axles and a wood floor. Looked to be in pretty good shape, itz not real old but it has been sitting outside for a few years.

I will ask him about it. He was gonna let me use it to pick up my 96 vert but I just drove it home. I am pretty sure you can use it and no worries about having it for a while.

I will try to talk to him about it in the next day or so.

Sorry for the delay.

The trailer is not registered (title or plates) because it was left there by some guy he knew and it is still in his name. Thus it will take a while to get ahold of the guy to get the title so it can be on the road. Her dad does not feel comfortable lending it out without all that, otherwise it would be ok.

Sorry for the bad news, I will work on getting it registered so it can be used next year if anybody needs it.

That's ok. I appreciate the effort.
And I understand her dad's concern.

I will be looking to buy one soon, so keep me in mind if he gets everything straight and you think it will do the job.
Thanks,
Dan

I will let you know if he sells it. I know the guy owed him money and I think he is going to keep the trailer instead because he is MIA. Otherwise if I get it up and running for next year is will be the offical ChicagoSVT loaner trialer.. :biggthump

Good luck with your trip, when do you leave??
The plan was to leave Wednesday and return Saturday.
No trailer yet, so it may get postponed til next Monday.
Got to go look at one tomorow.

At least the truck is ready. I installed the brake controller and picked up the plates today. We'll see how this 5.4 pulls...

And now it's snowing. SHIT!!!

Dan,

How does it fit on the 18 footer? I had to tow mine once and the only trailer I could get was a 16'. I had to remove the front bumper cover to get on.

I was thinking about getting an 18 or 20' drop axle but if the 18 footer isn't long enough I'll go with the 20.

The 18 footer is just right. More than enough room for the car and tires in the front if you want too.

This was a dove tail, but the ramps were a little short so we used 2X12's to lengthen them about 3 feet. That was all we had at the time, but it was just enough.
It is a Beaver Creek trailer.

One problem with the drop axle is opening the door of the car.

It was a problem with this trailer, by about an inch, but I can cut and hinge the fender to give me enough room to open and close the door to permit entry. I think the drop axle trailer will be worse. I would look at that a little closer.

I also plan on adding a few more rings to secure the chains and straps more easily soon too.
