My cousin has a blue 2003 cobra.. He wants to do the following...
Bassani Catback
Bassani H-Pipe w/ off road pipe
Bassani Midlength headers
MotoBlue Heat Exchanger
Line-Lock
Billetflow 2.80 or 2.93 Pulley w/ Idler and 74" gates belt
Port Blower
Billetflow Throttle body and power Inlet
Predator w/ Tune @ RWTD
Steeda Short Throw
Crower Stage II cams (w/ Engineered Component kit (aka springs and retainers)
Kenny Brown Lowering Springs (1.5")
Gauges: Autometer lunar (boost/AF/Oil pressure)

He is going to worry about suspension later... He will not be taking the car to the track for a lil.. maybe mid summer..

But he wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions etc.. on the stuff he picked out. (IE.. New fuel pump etc...)

Basically he wants to make sure that he has everything covered -suspension work so that way he does not blow the engine etc..

#1 - Bassani only makes X-pipes Just to clear up the confusion... they DO make Cat Backs....just not H-pipes
#2 - Line Lock isnt worth the PITA IMO
#3 - Billetflow No-Slip 2.76 With all Four Idlers... you can then use the stock belt and not have to worry about the stock idlers failing on you.
#4 - SCT Tune from HBH..... he is "The Man", and SCT is better
#5 - MGW Shifter.... much higher quality piece, and WAYYYY better than Steeda or Pro5.0
#6 - Make sure to get the JDM spec Crowers from JDM, not the off the shelf Crowers.
#7 - KB BAP
#8 - BilletFlow IRS Brace (want to keep that Diff cover together)

And Im sure he knows all about tirea already.

Suggestions

I would say most of that is good, but I'd save the money on a ported blower, idlers and belt and just get a KB or Whipple. If money becomes a factor, I'd scrap the cams to make it happen (although I know Hank will probably disagree with me). Call JDM for pricing and you'll see why I mention it as a future mod.

BTW, since I'm gonna possibly catch shit from Hank on that suggestion, I might as well mention this also:

The Predator is every bit as capable as the comparable SCT flash tuner. It's all in the tune. Anything you need done to your tune can be done by either flash tuner with a custom tune. HBH is a VERY GOOD tuner, but so is RWTD. You can't go wrong with either one.

The only thing that might make one better than the other is if you were actually going to their shop for the tuning.

If you get a chance give us a call at Sutton High Performance and if he is looking for prices on stuff i can help him out, and if he is looking for a tuner i can FOR SURE help him out.
Thanks Doug

Call JDM, ask for Anthony, get a Whipple, their tune and their stage 2 cams, Full Bassani exhaust.. That will give you well over 600rwhp, 700 on race fuel...

Then call Kenny Brown, ask for Kevin, he can help with the suspension...

Go with the Autometer Lunar gauges, I love them...

Then get some CCW's 18's

Also don't forget your Moser 9 inch... :biggthump

Why are you all so sold on the 9" and not a 8.8"? I'm sure you are going to say it is tougher....but there isn't really any truth in that these days. The 8.8" built right will hold just as much power, but is MUCH lighter and has less parasitic lose turning it. We took the 9" out of the Real Street car and our buddies Renegade car went w/ a 8.8" also. No breakage.

Sorry once again I have to ask, why wait on the suspension? I'm sorry mile long burn outs get old FAST in my mind? That car is going to make 500-600 RWHP and is going to go no where. I'm sorry if I have that power available to me I want to use it not smoke it. Not to mention w/ that IRS spinning usually ends in broken rear ends and tailshafts.

Your killing me, your just to much.. 8.8 being just as tough, will hold as much power?? Not even close, call Moser or Strange..

And who is saying to wait to do the suspension??

So you don't have real world proof? Just what a sales person who gets paid to make you spend more money? I'm saying have have real world proof of 700+ RWHP cars using 8.8" rears, cutting 1.28 60' times, and not breaking them. I'm not saying the 9" isn't strong, it is super tough, but why put a rear in the car that is soo much over kill, that weighs down an already HEAVY ass car.

And on the suspension, wasn't saying you told him to wieght, I was just commenting about the opening post. Take a deep breath.

I have seen serveral 03/04 Cobras having problem with the 8.8 so I went with the 9 inch..

I was going to spend the money either way, both Moser and Strange sell Both 8.8's and 9 inch's.. When I told them I would be making 500+ rwtq in a 3500#+ car, just off idle, Both recommended the 9 inch, also the cost is just about the same...

And the 9 inch is still lighter than the IRS...

Yeah, that is the most important thing, getting that out of there. Heavy and a major weak point if you want to go straight and fast.

That is highly possible, any rear end will have issues if built w/ the built w/o the best of parts, the only way to make a rear a bullit proof as possible is to put a spool in it, most people aren't willing to do that on a street car. I presonally use a C-Locker, launch the car at 6750 and not had an issue.

What you using for a diff in the 9" a locker or spool?
