Y U NO WANT AWESOME DD?

Is it bad that I feel like DasFinc with all these FS posts? No but really, this is an awesome DD. Buy it. Also, that should read "Y U NO" and not "U U NO". Proof read fail

The car is in perfect condition and has a few upgrades as well as some (expensive) maintainence already performed on it. Here are some pertinent details:

Exterior Color: Bluish Silver
Interior Color: Amaretto/ Black
Miles: 105,862
Price: $14,499

The car is in great condition. There are a few very minor signs of wear on the vehicle including a small nick on the driver's side and the smallest of rock chips on the front. The vehicle has an invisible bra installed so theoretically you could remove this and the paint would be perfect underneath however the car looks perfect as it is so there's really no need.

The interior is equally as nice. One of the rear drop down visors is missing though this is really common and not noticeable. If it's a make or break for someone I can try finding a replacement and popping it in. The leather is all in good condition and none of the switches have the standard scratches that you'll see in most other A8s. Actually the driver's door lock has it but none of the other switches, I swear!

Mechanically is where this car shines. I am a mechanic and my buddy is an Audi mechanic. All of the standard service has been done on the vehicle including the timing belt, thermostat, accessory belts, etc. Almost every other used A8 you look at won't have had this service done because people generally sell the car when it needs it as it's a $1500 service. So if you're looking at any A8 with over 75,000 miles on it make sure it's had it's timing belt replaced. If it hasn't, budget another $1500 - $2000 to have it done. Or just buy my car!

The car has a slew of features:

Air Suspension - Lift the car for snow, lower it for expressway driving or just leave it in Automatic mode and it will do it all for you.
Navigation - Navigation system has been updated to the latest (2010) NavTeq DVD
Rear Motorized Blind and manual side blinds
335HP V8 engine combined with a 6 speed ZF trans - Neither have any issues to speak of.
All Wheel Drive System - Audi's Quattro is fully mechanical and painfully reliable. This is an awesome car for inclimant weather, especially snow.
Motorized Trunk lid
Bose Stereo System with built in Subwoofer - The system will taylor the sound field to either the driver, both front passengers or just the rear passengers.
HID Headlights and LED Tail Lights (Headlights have been replaced)

In addition to the standard Features my car has a few extra:

Bluetooth - This is the stock bluetooth system controlled through the MMI. We installed this and coded it into the car. You will not find another 2004 with bluetooth so if that's a must have option for you, you want my car.
iPod Integration - System controls iPods, USB drives or can just take a standard red/ white RCA wire audio input. This will only be included if the asking price is met.
30% Tint on all windows except windshield
Invisible Front Bra

Curious why you are selling? I'm seeing lots of these pop up lately for what seems like impossibly cheap money.

I'd buy this in a heart beat if I wasn't terrified of repairs that I wouldn't have the slightest idea of how to fix.... There was a HUGE thread in the Car Lounge (VWVortex) about these cars.

*Edit

Seriously... I want it :(, but would have zero chance to be able to get a reasonable loan for it (Age and miles).

I'm going to be throwing down some coin for a 2006 M5. It's a difficult decision as the car is great. I have literally no complaints other than it's not fast. It's quick and it's got plenty of power for what it is but it's not fast.

If you take care of them they're painfully reliable. Most people don't do the timing belts or are scared by the fact that the front of the engine has to come off to replace the thermostat which often fails. None of the jobs are hard but the type of people that buy these cars generally have limited knowledge about their workings and have to pay the dealer to fix them.

For example, I paid $450 in parts for the timing belt, accessory belts, thermostat, seals, pulleys, etc and we installed it. To have a dealer perform this service would cost anywhere from $1800 - $2500. Similarly you're generally charged anywhere from $200 - $400 for an oil change despite the fact that you can easily do it yourself for just the cost of oil and a filter.

The transmission is a non issue on these cars as is the Quattro system. The only other failures you'll deal with are your typical VW electronics issues but those are all easy to fix albeit sometimes expensive.

Overall, this has been the most satisfying car I've ever owned as far as overall driving experience goes and when you consider it's 4500lbs that's saying a lot.

buying an M5 is a great decision :fy:

If you are looking at dealer cars, is the trade-in value really that low? or you just selling as you'd rather private sale it?

LOL, look what I started with all the M5 chatter.

Yeah you suck...

I sell stuff all day so I don't mind privately selling it. The Grand Prix was a quick, painless sale once I put pictures up so I imagine this will move relatively quickly once I get it up on Craigslist & Autotrader.

This bitch is back up for sale. We're looking at getting a place in LA and I've barely driven this little guy in the last few months because the weather has been so nice. So instead of having 19 cars I'm going to rock out the 550i at least until the end of summer and re-access my options then. In the meantime, the A8 needs to find a new home.

Buy it. New price is $14,000 firm. Mileage is 105,xxx now instead of 102,xxx in the ad.

Fuel pumps have both been replaced in addition to everything else in the ad.

Yeah it sold pretty quickly last time but I didn't have a replacement lined up and they guy wanted to pick it up on my wife's due date (she was 9 months pregnant). Needless to say, the deal didn't get finished and the guy was pissssssed. He really wanted it.
