honestly, imo, numbers and shit like this, albeit a cool statistic, are skewed so heavily by other factors... namely think about the amount of rental car impalas, cruzes etc... additionally think about the amount of fleet f-series trucks, as well as silverados...

id be more impressed and more interested in this statistic if it excluded fleet vehicles.

shit... enterprise is the largest purchaser of cars in the world from gm, chrysler and ford... id love to know the percentage of those impalas that are in their rental fleet  id guess 25%

That's probably the only thing keeping the Impala on that list.

Sales are sales...Who cares as long as they are profitable? I've seen a lot of import "fleet sales" lately. In fact, I had a Kia Optima rental in Florida and a Kia Sorento before that.

absolutely, but what i am saying is that the statistic kind of skews that this is what retail buyers are looking for, and that what is assumed.

from a macro standpoint, yeah it is cool, and a neat statistic, what i was saying tho is that it does not show what the public is really wanting...

gm sells those impalas to enterprise for like 14-16k at most... thats why enerprise wants them, fullszie car they can rent for more money that they pay jack shit for, not neccessarily because they are decent cars.

Sales aren't sales though. They only look at cost they don't give a shit as long as it fits in their categories.

You think a dude from enterprise is like "oh I like the seating position and comfy ride of a focus; order up 30k of them".

No he goes "oh look a focus is $300 cheaper then a civic and ford actually has 30k; order that shit up"

They could buy a Camry or Optima (I’ve had both as rental cars). If Ford is making a profit on a Focus selling to Enterprise, what’s the big deal? Are the Big 3 supposed to say f’ it, we aren’t selling fleet vehicles? That would be a DUMB decision assuming that they cars drive (excuse my pun) the bottom line.

I'm just saying it doesn't make it a good car. There's probably like 40k old people that bought impalas and 120k by enterprise
