What do youguys eat/drink/do to keep your energy levels high during the day? I've noticed lately during the day I'm just not as energetic as I used to be, I can't think as clearly/quickly, I move slower, make more mistakes at work, and always feel tired after I've gotten plenty of sleep. Everything just feels slower and my head feels clouded. The weather doesn't help, but this happens constantly on sunny 80 degree days too. It's like getting the "2pm feeling" from the 5 hour energy commercials - but it lasts most of the day, which is not good when I'm at work. Speaking of 5 hour energy, do those things actually work? What else do youguys use other than normal caffeine and energy drinks?

Apple in the morning before work is a great start. Not for breakfast. While driving to work I try to eat a apple I sliced. Then for lunch a banana. Great natural energy boosters.
Also avoid diet soda drinks. The aspertine(sp) has a big effect on makeing you feel tired and listless even when you get enough sleep.

Ive heard diet sodas are worse then regular. Hence why when this guy works overnight, he drinks the 290 calorie Mountain Dew. :fy:

Ive started drinking more water and eating an apple in the beginning of the day. Ive felt a difference. This is also on a goofy ass midnight schedule as well.

NOT trying to be "alarmist", GT, but have you, by chance, spoken to your doctor about this lack of energy? Sometimes, that can be evidence of underlying health issues.

Just sayin'.

do you take any vitamins ? starting the day with a multi-vitamin can be an easy addition to your morning routine.

i drink water while at work. try and eat smaller meals throughout the day. a handful of trail mix can be considered a meal. piece of fruit as others have mentioned, can be another meal.

fruits and vegetables will help nourish your body with the essentials.

i chug 20oz of cold water when i wake up. your body has to raise it's temperature to make up for the cold liquid. a raise in body temp helps burn about 10 calories, in the long run thats an extra pound per year.

+1 on lots of water. mtn dew and all that shit will just make you crash. I have a small cup of coffee with a little sugar to get me going then i start slammin water. 4 20oz bottles or so at work over the course of the day and you will notice the difference between drinking pop or other junk thats terrible for you.
