Everyone pretty much summed it up already. I'd say go xbox but that's because I like their exclusive games better (though I do miss gran tourismo), and I like to play online which imo is better on the xbox even though you do have to pay for live. Overall though they're both great systems, so just figure out what type of games you want to play and if you care about the blu-ray player and go from there. It's all personal preference here.

Gamestop is having a killer deal for both on Black Friday. IIRC the 360 was $150 for the system (guessing the 4GB one), 2 games (dont remember which ones) and the PS3 was $200 for the 160GB system and 2 games (once again, dont remember which ones.)
