iirc the SLR was the first raod car with carbon ceramic discs. So yeah its not cheap to be inovative.

Iirc the veyron uses AP racing setup for the brakes... I doubt it costs more.
And also I know the Enzo had 15" ceramics on it way before the SLR ever existed and car and driver said they were like $25k or something to replace

It's really not cutting age as the airplane industry has been using it for over 20 years.

The function of brakes working at lower temps is more the pad compound.
