An SHO will be JUST as bad of a money pit as a DSM, especially an auto.

In all seriousness, don't put a penny into the car, just drive it.

Especially if you are buying a G8 in April, there is no point in spending money for mods over winter if you are getting a new, far faster, car in spring...

I thought the SHO motor was detuned a lot?

they can hold an 8,000RPM Redline without issue, and handle some pretty serious boost with stock guts.

The rumors always were that the original motor design made 300hp, but they had to dial it back as to not make it faster than the mustang. It is claimed this is evident by how over built the bottom end is in these cars, and how throttled things like the intake manifold come from the factory.

These cars need to breathe as much as they can for the best output.

Dont the cam sprockets on the SHO's like to slip since they are only a press fit onto the actual camshaft?
No... The V6's like to spin rod bearings.

The SHO wasn't detuned... I combed through the original patents for it probably 8 years ago and it was very similar to the finished product. There's no signs of it being detuned from 300hp either. If that was the case it would be easy to reclaim that lost power. Instead, 300 crank horsepower is about the max you can get out of one naturally aspirated and that's with a 3.2 and cams so aggressive that you lose what little low end torque you started with.

I've got a nice powder coated, fully ported intake manifold with big bore butterflies for sale, if you're interested. Really noticeable in the top end. Also have a new carbon fiber cowl hood for sale as well.
