Nice, I never really got into the Nitro cars, since the electric ones were so much easier to deal with.

That being said, I have a whole group of people that race usually on sundays in the brookfield area in a parking lot, and 2 others with dirt tracks. Unfortunately my Traxxas Rally isnt the greatest on the dirt since its so low.

That crap really works well. I usually just dump the 1oz bottle into a gallon of fuel. That 1oz is enough to make EVERY tank smell like the scent you put in. And its strong.

People used to look around all the time when they smelled it. They'd smell cotton candy and the kids would be going nuts, parents couldn't figure out WHY they were smellin it till we told them it was the cars.

The Root Beer, Grape, Banana, and Cherry are especially strong smells. They'll stick around for a good 10-12 seconds each pass the car makes.

I got a bunch dumped on my hand once. It took nearly a week for my hand to stop smelling like bananas. It was an embarrassing first few days at work when the scent was strong.

Cotton candy ftw

Well I haven't gone in the last couple weeks because my driveshaft got eaten up by a small rock that got under the cover. Damn baseball fields.... The stock tires on the Rally are horrible on any harder surface, especially with the LiPo battery

But I will let you know if they will still be going there.

Here it is after a quick tear-down. Just surveying the car before cleaning. Definitely a $50 nitro rc car  It's filthy and makes my other 12-year-old Rustler look brand new. What I thought were painted stock parts in the photos are actually aluminum shocks, aluminum rear shock tower, aftermarket pipe and blue chassis.

So far the damage is two cracked front caster blocks, shredded spur gear, loose control arms, loose engine mounts (likely cause of spur gear melting), mismatched wheels and general hack-job wiring. Engine has good compression, though feels a tad looser than my .15.

Will post more pics as the progress and cleanup continues.

I'd just spray it with simple green.

Wd40 or PB blaster will make that plastic look real nice once it's cleaned.

WD40 also attracts dirt and dust again instantly because of the residue that it leaves behind. It will protect parts from rusting though.

For the real tuff stuff I use Nitroblaster or similar products. As long as its a non-chlorinated nitro cleaning product it won't dry the plastics out. The chlorinated stuff works but it dries plastics out over time making them brittle.

I usually use nitroblaster to blast dirt/debris out from around the diff cups and engine. I have used some quick shots of WD40 around the bearing surfaces and drive cups to keep rust from settling in in those areas.

Before and after shots, plus a little video of stills I put together while reassembling the car. Gave it to my dad as a bday gift since he's been all about this stuff from the time I got my other car running. This car was disgusting. It took hours of scrubbing to get all the grime out.
