I know the cycle all too well. The initial purchase isn't the killer. It's the nickle and diming and $30 here, $70 there (every time you go to the hobby store, like 2-3x/wk) thing that'll just run you straight away from the hobby.

For sure. I ran my car this weekend through four tanks and didn't break anything. It was amazing.

Used to perform at Monster Jams and other events with a local RC group and a group based in Nebraska. Big time fund racing and generaly a fun time all around.

We had awards at the end. One awards was most hardcore basher, aka the guy who wrecked the most shit and had the highest repair bill.

We also tallied up the total damage cost at the end of Monster Jam and shows. MJ's usually ended up with about 17-25 guys with a total repair bill near $3,000, one year we hit 5k because of a few blown motors.

When I had the tmaxx I'd burn a gal of fuel a week. :roflpicard:

How the hell......how'd you make it a whole gallon without shattering a t-maxx? Worst truck I ever owned. Bulkheads broke off just looking at them.

My fuel lasts so long because of my usual rc pattern.
1)Drive savage for a tank warming up.
2)Get crazy and try jumping a slide backwards or something which results in broken parts.
3)Head to hobby shop; spend $50.
4)repeat steps 1 and 2
5) throw savage in the corner of the basement for 3 months because I'm pissed.
6) repeat

T-Maxx's were horrible. I had an older Tmaxx 2.5 with an upgraded OS .18MT engine. I couldn't go a single tank without shearing a driveshaft.

Its why once i got my 1/8th buggies I never went' back to 1/10th based stuff. The ability to destroy everything in your path, or simply bounce off it is an ability reserved almost soley for 1/8th scale RC.

I ran full speed into a hidden 2x4 that was sunk into the ground when I was screwing around in a field once and it made the truggy flip. I drove away but when I looked I found the 2x4 had been cracked in half by an 11lb truck traveling nearly 50mph.

Depending how long it's been sitting you may have to free up the engine if it's seized. Mine uncorked after seven years with a little oil down the glow plug hole and gentle nudging with a socket and ratchet. Fresh fuel, batteries, fuel lines and glow plug will also help.

That crap really works well. I usually just dump the 1oz bottle into a gallon of fuel. That 1oz is enough to make EVERY tank smell like the scent you put in. And its strong.

People used to look around all the time when they smelled it. They'd smell cotton candy and the kids would be going nuts, parents couldn't figure out WHY they were smellin it till we told them it was the cars.

The Root Beer, Grape, Banana, and Cherry are especially strong smells. They'll stick around for a good 10-12 seconds each pass the car makes.

I got a bunch dumped on my hand once. It took nearly a week for my hand to stop smelling like bananas. It was an embarrassing first few days at work when the scent was strong.
