ive had my car for almost 4 years now and loved every minute of it. Its coming up on 75K miles now, and it hasnt really had anything go wrong that isnt just normal wear and tear. I dont really race it or beat on it, so it doesnt see a whole lotta abuse.

I cant really speak to many of the issues listed here, but i will agree on radius rods/strut mounts/and at the least getting some drag bags for the rear springs if you do plan on launching it a lot. I went the pedders route myself and couldnt be happier w/ how it transformed the car.

As someone else mentioned, the FRC rubbing on the fuel line should definitely be looked at. I just sanded that part of the frc down a bit, and then got another small piece of hose to cover up the fuel line right at that spot, and its been fine.

They're definitely nice cars, but it just depends on what you wanna get it for.

If you are buying a GTO go for a low mileage one with little to no mods. Higher mileage and mods is just asking for problems. Compared to the Monte it will be a fun car for sure.

Although that could be said for almost any car. High mileage + modded = dangerous game, kinda like farting when you know you've got diarrhea, you could get lucky, but do you really want to try?

Back OT. takeova07, if you got any questions or need help working on it/with something, hit me up. I did all the mods and tuning myself on mine. The engine is EXTREMELY easy to work on, compared to F-bodys or Mustangs, short of headers. Headers are a bit tricky but not impossible.

Cool thanks....
Anybody know what's up with these HPE cams I see everybody putting in there GTO...in my Z28 I had a comp cam and i loved it.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned wheel hop.

I had extreme wheel hop since I have all stock suspension and 93K

I replaced the motor mounts with solids and the trans with a basically solid mount with a little poly and wheel hop is virtually not existent.

All I feel now if anything ever is the tires idk what you would call it but it just feels like they are scuffing along on the road.

I can feel it slightly in my seat, when before the whole car would shake violently. I have made the car stall before it shook so bad just trying to doa burn out on DR's lol. The motor was at 5k when extreme wheel hop commenced and it just choked and shut off haha. Weird.....

I have a HPE s-cam, it drives okay but it's on the big side.

When turning sometimes very sharp right after disengaging the clutch it lugs down to 600 rpm but will jump up to 900-1000 for a second then back down to 800 once the IAC compensates for the change in load.

I'm with this guy they can be found cheap with low miles, you may have to wait a few months but you will find a sweet deal.

There was just a guy that sold one on ls1gto with I wanna say 2,800 miles for 17k thats a steal if you ask me.

It had a bunch of tasteful visual mods done and a few nice performance mods too.

Most people would list that at 20k+ including dealers, and people buy them at that price still.....

Same guy sold a cosmos purple 04 with similar things done to it with 20K miles or so I think and it went for 12k

The new 5.0 is a masterpiece compared to GM and their pushrod motors...

that is a foolish and completely stupid statement. dohc and variable valve timing is NOTHING new. plus, with all the "technology", less displacement, and lighter weight you'd think the new mustang would manage better fuel mileage than my boat anchor 6.0l pushrod JUNK stuffed into a land yacht.
please go back to eating crayons and playing in traffic :retard:
