there's another thing that will happen that no one has mentioned yet- and is happening places where 15 an hour has happened-

the employer just expects the employee to complete the same task, in fewer hours.

what's "upper class though"? the top 10% is likely well within reach for most TCG ballers, if not where quite a few reside, yet they aren't even remotely within pissing distance of the top .1% (not 1%, 1% is ~430k household nationally, which is not who anyone needs to worry about, the top .1% is where people should be worried)

aka- the liberal fuck this idiotic state put in power.

my completely biased bullshit opinion is dems/liberals would love to see the "middle class" shrink even more to see more government assistance-dependent families/voters.

I've heard of friends coworkers who make sure to not make too much per year to make sure they qualify for all their specific government programs... then someone like my wife hit's the ER for a kidney infection and walks with an $8k bill for 5 hours of being there, yet we don't qualify for shit because we "make too much".

just fucking insanity.

All told, the 0.1 percent now owns about as much wealth as the bottom 90 percent of America combined. And that’s just the official numbers. Plenty of their wealth is parked overseas and in places where it’s hard to get an accurate count of what they’ve accumulated. To get into the club, which comprises around 115,000 households, you need to start with a nest egg of $20 million—and that’s at the very bottom of the super-rich group. George W. Bush just barely makes the cut. He’s very rich, but not among the highest fliers in today’s second Gilded Age.

The fun part will be when automation starts knocking out lawyer jobs.

Minimum wage should rise with inflation and newer times. But expect robots to come in and drastically reshape low pay jobs.

This is a good article on the income "classes"

https://www.investopedia.com/persona...ou-top-1-5-10

Two professionals with decent incomes will put you in the top 2-3%.

Doubt it. They don't pay minimum wage so how will they be affected? Nobody is charging minimum wage for any of those jobs

jesus.

yeah, the whole "attack on the top 1%" thing is something i think the top .1% desires because they'll survive it and further differentiate themselves from the .1-1% class.

That will be the biggest hit. Imagine 100-200k salary job loss.

Going from 40k to nothing will suck, but 200k to nothing is drastic

Just out of curiosity, how do you expect automation/AI to take over lawyering?

That isn't even close.

What in the eff?!?!?! Bringing wives into TCG convos??

Feel free to start anything with me, but not sure where my wife comes into the mix. Sounds like you could have used some better teachers in your life to learn you some common decency.

From the articles I see more legal-aide, paralegal, and lawyer support jobs getting hit by AI and automation, than attorneys themselves. Most of the BS investigation/research isn't done by the lawyers anyways. But I do see where they are coming from. An interesting angle, that I never thought about...the legal system isn't so black and white, with so much nuance, that I didn't think AI...er...Skynet would be able to handle it, but it's a learning machine
