We just bought the LG top loader and matching dryer about 6 months ago.
My Wife absolutely loves them, says its the best washer/dryer we ever had.
Let me try and find the link

I like the ones I have but with the front loaders you have to leave the door open and the detergent drawer thing open or it will mold

Same. Plus the door seal leaks. It's also annoying if it stops mid rinse cycle because the load is off balance, and you can't open the door to fix it.

I canít recommend brands. But I do like simplicity of just a simple dial on our washer and dryer. All those fancy buttons and knobs donít make clothes any cleaner or more dry than my easy to use washer and dryer. Worthless gadgets. Cheap and reliable is the way to go.

I went to Sears and asked for the least water saving model with the least amount of settings. Have the same one you posted 😂

Iím surprised. I thought machines like this would be outlawed by now. I think ours are about ten years old and have been rock solid.

I have a Kenmore washer that's 25 years old and it just keeps on going.

Just bought a new Maytag dryer and the thing is a beast. It's a simple one with dials and will probably outlive me.

Our rental house here in Japan came with some decent Miele's but they were really small and it seemed like we were always doing laundry. After we complained a bit they swapped those out with a large American old school top load washer and front load dryer which was good for a while but then the dryer started burning things randomly. They came in and changed parts on it a couple times but then gave up on it and ordered us some new ones from Japan. Apparently the landlord company made a rule that they would no longer buy American appliances for the neighborhood because they are too hard to get parts for and service compared to Japanese ones.

The washer/dryer capacity here is measured by kg and the units will both wash and dry the clothes in one cycle. The downside (besides the small size) is that the complete wash/dry cycle can take up to 240 minutes when fully loaded. To try to help this they installed two of them, one where the washer was and another where the dryer was. These are the ones they bought us and they are the largest residential washer/dryer setup available that are domestically produced in Japan. At about $1800 each they are not cheap, either.

We have the most generic and basic top load washer and gas dryer.

Simple to use, only had to fix one issue in 8 years with it and I was able to do it. The timer on the dryer went bad so I pulled the panel and swapped it out.

I've had a Samsung stackable in my attached garage and the washer finally gave out after 11 hard years. They were both in constant use. There are plastic runners that held the drum in the correct position. These are what gave out. We have way overloaded this thing far too many times and it never gave us an issue until these runners broke.

I replaced the washer with an updated version of the same model. The garage gets down to 30 degrees and up into the high 90's at times. Definitely not the typical environment for one of these. I was shocked it lasted this long through those temps. It never leaked and I have never had a mold issue. The drawer would get washed about once a month.

Hopefully my new one does the Samsung name proud.

I bought super basic white bitch Whirlpool washer/dryer from Home Depot. All in about $700 after sales and whatnot.

Washer is going into year one with no issue and I just bought the dryer a couple months ago.

my parents have the high tech LG units. More buttons than in Knight rider

When I bought the townhouse, the washer / dryer were part of an incentive that supplied the balance of the appliances.

I have the run of the mill GE washer and driver. Top loader for the washer.
The only thing I have replaced was the timing knob on the dryer.
i think it was like 18 bucks on Amazon,

I really have a hard on for Samsung products for some reason. Always have had good luck with their TVs and I had one of their fridges that I really liked.

Not Samsung

Samsung washer caused $50k flood damage at my house.

Within 6 years; computer module issues, springs replacements and drain pump motor bracket failure (that caused the flood). Not the mention the safety recalls.

Had multiple repair techs say they do not produce the best quality.

When it comes to reliablility, get the basic stuff. Any of these washers/dryers with fancy electronic driven headunits, doesn't matter what brand, are the problem children.

Also, keep in mind, most of these, with the exception of LG, Samsung and GE, the bulk of them are made by Maytag/Whirlpool. That includes Kenmore. So don't get wrapped up on brands. It's all the same hardware underneath.

For the longest time, we (Sears/Kenmore), had an agreement where any new technology Maytag/Whirlpool put in these devices, we got first and then they couldn't put them on their own units for a certain period of time. That I believe has been since abolished, but...

Kenmore sticking around?

We have kenmore elite appliances thruout the house. Our washer drum has jumped off its mount before and the guy from sears repair said it was a terrible design thankfully they were all new when we bought it 3 years ago and had a warranty.

Yea most likely. That's one of the reasons he "bought" the place was for the brand assets, Kenmore and Die Hard. Much like Craftsman he could sell them off in pieces and make a ton on the Goodwill from the name alone.
