There are plenty of mid sized sedans out there you can buy. Hell, the Sonata IIRC is getting a face lift in 2020 and is actually made in the US. lol.

We got way more than usual but that’s because we had a kid at the end of the year. We would of owed $200 or so otherwise which is about on par with previous years

Nope, just doing basic, non common core math. If companies are actually paying over 600 a month due to taxes, and coworkers are actually getting less than 400, a company can lease a 300 car and then pay the insurance, which should come out to less than 400 a month.

Tell your company Im hiring. I just saved them 200 a month per traveling employee.

This is all obviously per YOUR link. Dont get mad I learned me something as you said.

Per your link.

The report also explains how car allowances are costing the companies providing these programs. When employers pay a car allowance, they are also responsible for payroll taxes to cover social security and Medicare taxes. This means a $575 allowance costs companies about $619 per mobile worker. In total, $226 is lost to taxes on a $575 car allowance every month between employers and employees.
$226 per month per coworker. If you are even a smedium sized company, and have say 30 traveling coworkers, your company can save themselves alone $15,840 a year. They would save themselves AND coworkers $81,360 a year.

Ohh and the coworker has less taxable income on their paycheck which can effect everything come April.

As an employee there are things I can’t control, like telling the owner how to run his business. The one thing you forget is driving records. Some employees would not qualify for company vehicles. Some companies have a hard time hiring imagine doing background checks and driving records. The whole point is you guys accused me and other sales people for double dipping when in reality the situation is not favorable to us.

If driving is a requirement for your job, then yes. You need to have a driving background performed. There is an entire industry that does this.

No, you cannot tell an employer how to run their business, but they also cant hold you at gunpoint and tell you to work for them forever. Good companies also listen to their employees. Has anyone suggested this? You might be surprised what happens if you ask or make the suggestion.

I mean, if you lay out the math like I did above, it might even make higher ups that are totally unaware of the situation sit back and reevaluate the situation.

This thread summarized by a quote in this article.

Quote:
“Everyone wants to compare refunds from one year to the next, but that doesn’t tell the whole story,” said Debbie Freeman, CPA and director of financial planning at Peak Financial Advisors in Denver.

“They did generally see a benefit from tax reform, be it from the adjustment to their income tax brackets or from*the larger child tax credit, ” she said.
