I guess I was oblivious to that being the reason for the hike.

Meh, gas goes up, gas goes down, goes goes in, gas comes out. It's been unusually low this whole year so far and any hike now, to me, is more like it being at normal prices. You see old fucks bitching about 'back in my day gas was 35 cent a gallon' well guess what you jackass, it still is when adjusted for inflation. My gripe is the gouge for premium, that's the real crime here. #high compression life

An equal crime to fuel price gouging is food costs drastically increased years back when gas was $3 - $4 or so a gallon (at least that was the excuse for excessively raising food costs).

Gas prices have since gone done, however; food costs didn't which is ridiculous.

To respond to your premium fuel statement; price gouging is bullshit, no matter if solely on premium fuel or across the octanes. The wind changes direction and these jokers temporarily jack up the price of fuel that's already on site.

Watching the news, looks as though the city of Houston should be renamed to Lake Houston.

It may be on site but they're raising the price of that fuel in anticipation of later fuel costing more, there's some kind of logic at play. I agree at the fuel surcharge stuff, fuel prices are down so why is that delivery cost and fuel surcharge still on the bill? We still see it on parts invoices from some dealers.

Fill up now if you haven't already. Prices are going to soar on Monday after the oil co. board members stop laughing and slapping each other on their backs.

#gas sipper
I only fill up once a week in the faily driver cause I can't go over about 3/4 tank till I replace the tank. The slow car needs 91 or better and I can go about 1.5 to 2 weeks between fills if I can keep from pegging off 8,000 RPM. I don't drive for a living and live about 15 miles from work, going out on weekends takes some. Not sure which I want to drive today, probably the faily driving since I'm meeting up with someone new to go hiking and don't want to talk about cars.

I hope your family and everyone else is OK. Hurricanes are long, slow disasters that start bad and continue for days. Kudos to all the people helping out in Texas now.

Some of the pictures coming out of the area are crazy, and supposedly they're going to get even more water and the storm might possibly go to the coast and pickup more steam again.....

They might have to flood the lower areas on purpose to save downtown Houston.....

I was going to say, prices out here actually went down about $.10 ON the weekend, which is a rarity.

They're okay. My mom started getting some water in the house but then the rain stopped and it went down....for now.

There's also a road that collapsed not to far from where they're at. My cousin is a floating manager for H.E.B (our Jewel) and they had about 10 semi trucks for disaster relief ready to go. Texas is gonna need a lot of help.

I have a co worker who went down there (just north of Houston) to visit his dying dad. His dad passed away last night, but all flights were cancelled through friday.
